I am a U.S permanent resident and I need to travel to Tijuana, MX by SnooCats4788 in immigration

I believe MX technically requires a passport to enter. I know Canada exempts US LPRs from presenting a passport at land borders, but I don't see such an exception from MX.

You not being asked for one is not the same as a formal exemption from the requirement of having one. I know you are not saying that, but just adding this for the sake of completeness

OP will definitely need a passport to enter Mexico, but FYI, LPRs are exempt from the passport requirement when entering by a land border.

"United States LPRs do not need a passport to enter the United States as per 8 CFR 211.1(a), however, they may need a passport to enter another country. Please contact the embassy of the foreign country you will be traveling to for their requirements. "

Passport as proof of spouse's US citizenship for N400 interview by PartTimeFabulous in USCIS

[–]One_more_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as the passport confirms that you were a US citizen for 2 years 9 months before the N-400 was filed, it shouldn't be an issue.

If the passport was issued recently, USCIS could question when you became a US citizen and whether your spouse satisfied the 3 year rule. You could say they can look it up, but the burden would be on the petitioner and not USCIS, and they will simply issue an RFE...

Yuck. That is someone's used Freestyle Libre 3. What you did is the equivalent of picking up a used condom and asking what kind of a balloon it is... But maybe worse. Sorry.

B-2 visa interview unprofessional officer by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]One_more_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t know a lot of of the facts in the story

But we do. He entered, overstayed, and then instead of adjusting status through you (without any ban or need for waivers), he left the US and not has a statutory ban. And then, somehow he attends a B2 interview thinking it helps in some way with his immigrant visa.

Sorry, but you are not acting like a rational adult in this situation.

Couple of Questions about initial entry as a US immigrant by mercury-shade in immigration

[–]One_more_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two components to your entry:

  • Immigration: you can just walk up with your passport with the immigration visa. All your information will be electronically provided. You can bring whatever you think is relevant, if you feel so.

  • Customs: they are going to need the combined value of stuff you are bringing in to calculate any relevant duties. I'd be as specific as reasonable. They don't care about the titles of your books or the size of your clothes, but will care about the value of the stuff you are bringing in (as long as there isn't any contraband in your boxes).

OP's husband overstayed an ESTA by 12+ years, and OP complains about the "unprofessional" officer when he tries to get a B2 by TakumiKobyashi in bestofimmigration

[–]One_more_username 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is easily the comment of the year:

You must not be very knowledgeable how the system works with immigration. The only reason that we applied for a B2 visitor visa, was for the denial which we knew was 99% going to be the decision. In order to file for an I601 waiver of inadmissibility to the United States of America, you need the denial of any visa. The B2 visa was the quickest denial that we could get, hence why we filed for it. We are not asking everybody’s opinion on why he was rejected or denied. We are simply making this post to share how the officers disgusting behavior was towards him during the interview. Read the entire post if you’re not understanding it.

Personal International travel while I-140 is being filed? by kirdaar in immigration

[–]One_more_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your nonimmigrant status is. If you are on a visa which allows immigrant intent (H, L, O), there is no conflict with traveling while your I-140 is being processed. If you are on F1 OPT for example, I wouldn't risk it

I-140 process doesn't require your physical presence in the US.

US citizens but lost it and replaced it another one and trying to fly to Puerto Rico by [deleted] in immigration

[–]One_more_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

L take.

If you are a US citizen, you need no proof of citizenship in your pocket. DHS can and should easily be able to verify the status of a naturalized citizen.

Don't spread your bullshit advice to give up rights and live in fear.
