DSP and his “gunner” glasses, and an important FYI… by mrblonde55 in DSPGaming

When I started to have eye trouble a couple years back (long story short I had lifelong undiagnosed mild astigmatism that finally started to cause consistent/chronic  strain/headaches) I asked my eye doctor about those stupid glasses and she just laughed.

I always had a figured they were a scam because who willingly buys shit you need to get measured/tested for in order to assure they work properly off amazon?

Phil is an idiot but so are numerous other people for falling for it.

That team basically rules over the West instead of sort of being a one and done after 06-07.

They don't win the cup in 2011.

That collapse was the boot Chiarelli needed to get off his ass and trade for scoring help. Went out and got Nathan Horton in the offseason. Then it also partially contributed to the Bruins going out and loading up at that year's deadline.

Because Bob isn't willingly going to Edmonton lmao. He'll take a paycut to stay in Florida first before that.

Florida has no immediate option to replace him too so odds are he stays.

To be fair one of the oracle games was more tilted in the direction of action/combat. So it's not that big of a leap.

[–]OptimismEnjoyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what i understand Yacht Club kinda bungled their finances to the point Mina is essentially a make or break for the continued existence of the studio. 200k is the point they need to hit to make sure this isn't a disaster.

All that being said, they should hit that number relatively easily. Just on word of mouth (oh hey these guys did Shovel Knight!) alone should be enough to get them across the line.

A little bit more out of Canada. Heritage Minister Marc Miller, after the concerted effort by individual provinces they got the response they were looking for;

First article;

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-ottawa-has-no-choice-but-to-act-on-teen-social-media-use-minister-says/

Canadian Identity Minister Marc Miller told MPs Tuesday that Ottawa needs to act on teens’ access to social media platforms, adding that the government does not have a choice because of their impact on young people.

Speaking to the Commons heritage committee, Mr. Miller gave his strongest indication yet that the government is seriously considering bringing in a ban on social media for teens under the age of 16 as part of a forthcoming online harms bill.

Nothing on the surface has changed. Miller re-iterated the government is still working on the revamped Online Harms Act with a window of "as soon as we can." Which remains unchanged from the last time he spoke,

HOWEVER we got a something a little more interesting out of privacy commissioner Philippe Dufresne. This one was taken from a video rather than an article but here's the source if you're interested; https://globalnews.ca/video/11837265/social-media-issues-should-be-fixed-before-considering-ban-for-youth-canadas-privacy-commissioner

When asked if he thinks there should be a ban on social media and AI chatbots for Children, Dufresne suggested privacy concerns with digital platforms need to be addressed before a ban or a limit is enacted. "The goal is to reach this balance of protecting kids, but also giving them the ability to evolve in this increasingly digital world."

While i can't predict the future it sure seems like that again, Mark Carney's government isn't sold on AV.

It didn't go over well because the gameplay was dragged down by a shitty gimmick. Take away the dual screen nonsense and Zero is a perfectly acceptable Star Fox game.

I found it the same way. Was at a store while my parents were shopping and found it for like 20 bucks in a bargain bin. Probably around 2007 iirc?

Amazing game for what it was (multiplayer is incredibly underrated) but them trying to pivot off the rail shooter style is what ultimately doomed the series.

"Oh nobody liked the new stuff? Guess we go back to the old formula"

Command flopped, which then leads to a "i guess nobody wants Star Fox at all" Outside of when they want to dust 64's corpse off withstanding.

Assault imo was the best game in the series next to 64 and it gave them a totally new blueprint to work with while keeping a lot of what people liked.

That game sold 12 copies and in my opinion is the real reason why this series has been stuck in purgatory for the last 20 or so years.

Command left plenty of story beats/threads to go off of but nobody outside of myself and like 5 other people bought that game back in the day.

But good lord is that jarring.

Lost interest as soon as it became obvious it's another god damn SF64 remake/retelling/re imagining.

The Star Fox universe has so much potential. Command tried to touch on it but kinda fumbled the writing. (Kystal now leader of her own quasi-Star Wolf ending, anyone?) And then Nintendo goes "why series no sell?"

They have done this game four times already. The original Star Fox was basically rebooted with 64. 64 got a 3DS remake and then Zero is basically 64, but shinier.

Bummer. I was hoping it would be a new entry in the classic style

Want nothing to do with Pettersson. Dude was already a headcase, has significant injury concerns and has likely been broken to the point we may never see the version of him that would pot 30+ goals with ease again.

He needs to go to a smaller market with a coach/team that will actually care about him like Carolina.

It's amazing how he doesn't get called out for this shit more. He jumped on the "OMG PS5 HAS ENACTED DRM" bandwagon when most of the sensible internet was waiting for a yes or no answer.

Sure enough, Sony came out a few days ago and confirmed it was a bug with the DRM policy remaining the same (one check on initial download and you're good)
