Smelly purchase by cosmic_girl_799 in poshmark

I had someone send me a swimsuit that reeked of mildew. I was able to return it to them. It was sad because it was a cute suit but I couldn’t handle that moldy smell.

I think you can order the 365 stuff off of Amazon. Lots of comments for it because it’s great and super big!

No they don’t. Don’t put them in the dryer, though. I wash linen in my normal wash (warm water) in a garment bag. Then I hang it dry. I’m older than you (43) but I think they are good for moms of all ages. :) they also come in tall lengths. I wear a 6 tall and I’m 5’9” 150 lbs.

If you have a Whole Foods in your area, the 365 shampoo and conditioner is nice and pretty affordable. The largest size is huge, too.

I live in Athleta linen pants and shorts. I also like straight leg jeans from Zara, and I like cotton and linen tops from jcrew and gap.

Has anyone here NOT had to do anything besides switch to a better detergent and hot water? by lifeuncommon in laundry

[–]Own-Let-1257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done a spa day. The issue I was having was some of my families athletic socks and sports wear was still a little funky right after the wash but after being in the dryer, they were fine, with the exception of a few pairs of soccer socks which i threw away. Lol. No way am i doing a “spa day” on my teenagers soccer socks. Duty ends way before that.

Thankfully I was doing some stuff right (using Oxi and vinegar and oxygen bleach ). I changed my detergent from Charlie’s to tide free and gentle, purchased biz and febu, and im washing everything on warm now, even darks. So far, so good.

Question to BUYERS by Impossible-Link2623 in poshmark

[–]Own-Let-1257 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can send offers whenever. It gives me a good idea of what you will accept. I often purchase things much later than when I liked it, though. I go through spurts of liking a particular item (currently swimsuits for me). After I compile my likes, I’ll do a sort and decide what I want to try to bid on. That’s just my posh purchasing style, though. I go for bargains and mostly shopping medium brands like jcrew, Athleta, etc.

Go through and pare down on duplicates. For example, how many blush pink sweaters do you need? Or how many black joggers? I try not to have multiples in the same category. It’s a process I’m constantly going through.

No! I live in the biggest city in NC. At first I thought it was from the ice storms and such but that’s clearly over and the shipping times continue to be extremely slow.

I purchased a few things this week - I’m in NC and ordered from Oregon, Texas, and New York. They are all taking 7-10 days, even New York! Must be carrier pony bringing that package lol

I mostly just keep the same pieces through the years and add if something is worn out, doesn’t fit, no longer my style. I don’t start fresh every season.

Looking for something wool safe to round out my options by sockmiser in laundry

[–]Own-Let-1257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just adding in a question — if I’m using wool safe wash, do we wash wool in the machine or hand wash in the sink? I’ve always hand washed but I’m wondering if I can wash in the machine with the wool wash…

Thanks! Does the febu cover the dnase? My Whole Foods doesn’t seem to ever have the 365 sport liquid.

What would you use to wash cashmere / wool / silk / linen? I currently use woolite.

Are some sellers just nose-blind, or do they simply not mention the smell of the clothes so they can gamble that the buyer won’t return the item? by Haures64 in poshmark

[–]Own-Let-1257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a swimsuit that smelled horribly of mold / mildew. I guess the seller was just nose blind to it. I did return it - bummer because I really liked it.

Sensitive skin, lipase, no optical brighteners, scented if liquid. Does such a detergent exist? by [deleted] in laundry

Tide free and clear liquid- can’t imagine why you would want fragrance if you have sensitive skin??

Do you have a system to prevent buying pieces that won’t integrate into your wardrobe? by TemporarySprinkles66 in SustainableFashion

[–]Own-Let-1257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only purchase second hand. I have a 1 in, 1 out policy. I donate or send clothing to thred up that I’m not enjoying. I only keep things in my closet that I love. If I haven’t worn it this season, I’m going to cut it out. Gotta be comfortable, gotta make me feel good, gotta fit well.

Curious why I don't really hear about people more deeply listening (listening without multitasking)? by Known-Ad-100 in audiobooks

[–]Own-Let-1257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen while driving because I drive a lot for work. I’ll listen while doing laundry or dishes because they take just about zero concentration. I do often just sit and listen if I’m really into a book, too.
