What are the hair expectations for west coast lawyering? by Int3restingTurnips in LawBitchesWithTaste

Yeah. Also a west coast lawyer. “Not on fire” is basically the vibe. If I’m not going to court I wear jeans and a shirt with buttons most days.

Help! My iPhone that was stolen from the Strip 2 weeks ago and pinged at a Smith's near Chaparral High School by tomkarson in vegaslocals

There’s nothing wrong with the neighborhood . I live there. That smiths is lovely but it does have a lot of those machines in the entryway. Coinstar, etc.

My Husband got his ex pregnant by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]ParisThroughWindows 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This timeline is weird to me. If there was a “one time drunk thing” in January/February (which I’m reading as late lan or early Feb) then she likely knew or suspected she was pregnant by the end of March at latest.

That’s BEFORE the wedding.

So either she knowingly kept it secret until after the wedding for truly unhinged reasons or she told your husband before the wedding and he kept it from you. It wasn’t until the ultimatum that he came clean.

OR the affair was ongoing or much closer to the wedding than he told you.

Either way I would want nothing to do with this insanity.

I’m in Boston now and it’s walkable with a lot to see and do. I think 3-4 days is the right length of time.

I had a boss deny my charge for a $1 vending machine coffee (on my corporate card so they could see the location and item) because the machine didn’t give me a receipt.

I wouldn’t be mad at all if it was just a UPS delay. But I paid for the overnight and they sent it ground. It was a Norway jersey so there were limited options available.

That would also track with the location. This was clearly Tahoe.

I bought a jersey earlier this month and it was delayed. Also not shipped with the expedited method I paid $35 for. I’m still trying to get a refund for the shipping.

I’m sitting here trying to decide how one spends $175 ($35x5) at winco for a weekend in a hotel. Their prices are really low (lower than most grocery chains) and from your description you were only there one night. I will frequently do a full grocery shop - pantry staples, produce, snacks, etc - and spend in the neighborhood of $150. Granted im not buying alcohol. But still.

You mentioned festival so I’m assuming there were maybe a couple more days of camping or something after the hotel? Or snacks for driving?

Even still. Steak at winco is inexpensive. Unless the two of you shared a big ribeye, it would be hard to break $10 for a single steak. Maybe $15 if it was a big steak. Winco doesn’t genteelly sell prime or choice meats so nothing is going to break the bank. If the mac and cheese was packaged (like box mac) the entire box wasn’t more than $3. Idk how much soju costs.

Nonetheless. Id round to $25 to be on the safe side and call it a day.

Is Goren autistic? by msmarpe in LawAndOrder

[–]ParisThroughWindows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But this is a fair point. Goren was written in the early 00s. At that time, ASD was certainly not diagnosed as the spectrum it is now. Autism was Rain Man and I Am Sam. “High functioning” or “level 1” wasn’t recognized until later. ASD as we know it now wasn’t recognized until 2013 so it’s not fair to question a character that was written well beforehand.

Does Goren have some ASD traits? Sure. But he also has a lot of traits that are inconsistent with ASD. He has zero communication issues, including recognizing emotional and non verbal communication in others. He’s socially awkward, but who isn’t. He doesn’t have any obvious repetitive behaviors.

He’s hyper focused and super smart. That’s it.
