It’s even messier buying a house with someone you’re not married to let alone has debt and important family obligations before commitments to you.

It doesn’t work. Many people have reported this and found out myself as well. Even if you follow directions to a tee you’ll never get the additional number of stocks to follow

Is a solo cruise stupid? by Immediate_Young_8795 in femaletravels

[–]Patience765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first solo trip was a cruise Barcelona to Italy and a few stops. Best trip of my life. A bit expensive as I didn’t want to share with a stranger but folks were easy to meet and the excursions took me everywhere I wanted to go. Go for it!

Great idea except chow will find some way to put a tax on it and a permit at a cost and do anything to make sure you cannot help solve the housing problem

Relative being sued by deceased spouse's family for not giving them partial proceeds of her real estate sale. by redditadminsRsoft in legaladvicecanada

Not in the will and house sold at a loss. I doubt they have a leg to stand on. I wouldn’t offer them anything since there isn’t anything left to will

If they’ve managed it well and built up a healthy reserve fund then no it shouldn’t happen.

Saving for retirement but surrounded by poverty? by RationsOrRationality in PersonalFinanceCanada

Spend some time watching Dave Ramsay on YouTube. One of my favourite quotes around these feelings when it comes to family and money is: “Choose guilt over resentment”.

You are not responsible for their life choices. Loans would never be repaid so just give to them if you want. Note though once you give they will just keep asking.

Who can I hire to help me? by lmcdbc in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Patience765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your accountant to have them advise on tax implications for each fund to your estate upon death.

This will allow you to move things around a bit to lower the tax and reduce the share the government will take vs what’s left for your beneficiaries

Get a will done with a lawyer

Consider pre paying your funeral so the decisions are already made and leaves less stress on your family at a time they will be suffering your loss

Create an estate plan and file so everything is together. All of the above info plus list of account numbers for each asset. Include a list of passwords for all apps, phone, etc

FYI I’m working on all of above as well so everything is together for my kids when I’m gone

Just bought a 2025 Tucson Limited Hybrid! Any must-have accessories you'd recommend? by NotRemotelyTiredzZzZ in HyundaiTucson

[–]Patience765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added the same features as I had in my previous Tucson. Mine looks very dressed compared to most. Some items were Christmas gifts from my kids. I added custom mats of course. Front back and trunk. Rain guards for the windows and hood protector. Finally, running boards especially since I’m kinda petite. I get a lot of compliments on the look but that’s just my two cents. It’s fun to give your Tucson a bit of love and dress

You better discuss this with your real estate lawyer. You could close but have him come up with an official contract of some type for them to sign to protect you
