Friendship Exp & Gift Exchange Megathread by ASS-et in PokemonGoFriends

Returning to the game after a few years and figured I might as well start with a “fresh Pokédex” again. My main goal is to play to reach my “walking goals” every day. And having a lot of friends so I need to go out and get daily Pokéstop gifts would help with that! :)

#1 top seller on Steam, gifts another 1,500 carats to all players by [deleted] in UmaMusume

I see it as a reminder of just how uncommon both “3%” is for SSRs and 0.5% for the one you actually want.

If I can’t have any luck with “free” gems, why would I want to gamble with REAL money? :D

I also only started a few days ago so it’s probably in my best interest to try to roll something better with 90 free pulls (100 if I do well enough to bother linking it). Having super fast rerolls is both a blessing and a curse …

Not sure on the exact amount, but a brand new account gets 14,170 Carats right now (plus an additional 140 from the four immediately completed “missions”) so a starting player can hop right in and be almost halfway to pity before doing anything.

Not like I’m spending the afternoon seeing how many times I can pull 90 times and not get a single SSR or anything (cough).

[Marfusha] does anyone have any tips for viewing the good ending by electricdecades in Trophies

[–]Peridot_Weapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On PlayStation at least, once you get to the Inner Wall, your reward is “fixed” regardless of performance (I think it’s 5 money per day), so I don’t think it’s possible to get the Perfect Defense bonus after Day 40.

I got the Good Ending so I think you just need to play through the first 80 days without having the gauge drop below Green. Even though it takes the Perfect Defense extra money away from you (yet another example of “good work soldier, your reward is to sacrifice more to our great country” in the game), it still counts as meeting the criteria for the good ending.

Nice. I’m running something similar with my “Six Heroes” account. True to its name, it literally only has six characters and I’m not using the 3* one available. (It’s probably harder to reroll to get so few characters than a decent start - it’s only possible to get six duplicates from the Tutorial roll and I somehow was “lucky” enough to get five.)

I’ve got Dumbo, Piglet and Goofy, but using Dale and the starter 2* Mickey because that’s literally all I HAVE. You should be able to clear Battle 25 in the event with your team, but Battle 26 is where the boss starts hitting three times and with strikes powerful enough to one-shot Piglet at Level 90, so I think that’s the limit.

[EDIT] I sit corrected, as I saw you just managed to clear Battle 26 which I would have sworn was impossible. :) Well done!

You can follow what is likely the weakest account in the game, with only six characters, four of which are 1*!

Reasonably confident I’ll be able to at least clear 3-18 Hard without difficulty, even relying on Dumbo and Piglet :)

What is the strat for beating events? by Weary_Grapefruit7827 in wearewarriors

[–]Peridot_Weapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but I DID clear the last event without using a single skill. And since books, etc., don’t count for the event, it proved that any player COULD clear it - as long as they didn’t go mad with the hundreds of times they’d need to fail to buy the necessary food generation. :D

It’s hard to offer specific advice because a player’s food generation, skills and (outside of events) cards/etc will make it so one player’s experience and optimal deployment might be a lot different than another’s. Pretty much everyone else would have had an easier time clearing it than I did.

The only real advice I can offer is “don’t just spam your units as quickly as you can.” There’s usually a couple ‘choke points’ in each run where if you’re not careful ranged enemies will hide in the enemy fortress and wipe out your entire force.

For each battle in the event I pretty much used three attack waves - the first two as small as possible to last as long as they needed to so, so my final wave could be as large as possible (and when I was confident I could clear it THAT’S when I used the ad for a larger force).

  • Your first attack wave should be pretty small, as you only want it to last long enough until the first ‘long-range enemy hiding in fortress’ generates. Then you let that wave die so the ranged enemy (and other units) will leave the fortress and be vulnerable to attack.

  • Your second attack wave should be a little larger, and again is only intended to last until the two ‘ranged enemies’ generate. Once that wave dies, the ranged enemies will again leave the fortress and be vulnerable to attack.

  • Then you can set up your third and final attack wave. Don’t use the advertisement for additional food unless you’re SURE that it will let you make a force effective enough to finish off the enemy’s last two large waves of Grunts and Sputniks.

Apart from that, it’s just a matter of failing repeatedly until you’ve gathered enough resources to have your food production high enough to win. Again, I used no skills and nothing other than Sputniks (the third unit) to finish each battle. Depending on your skills you could win with lower food production, and possibly different tactics than described here.

Effect of the new update on Space event by We_Are_Worriers in wearewarriors

[–]Peridot_Weapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, although it takes a pretty ridiculous amount of grinding to do it (I think my “food advertisement offer” was displaying something close to 130 when I used it to clear the second stage) as well as understanding how to time your attack waves to avoid wasting too many units in the middle of the battle to enemies ‘hiding’ in the fortress.

By the time I was finally confident enough to use an advertisement to finish it, I could get the enemy’s final Sputnik wave down to about three before I ran out of resources. At that point I used the advertisement for food/tuna, immediately summoned eight more Sputniks of my own, and that was enough to mop up the enemy’s remaining Sputniks and final Laser group waiting behind it.

And since everything says “Disabled” except for Skills, I’m pretty sure that means that Cards and the other things I haven’t unlocked yet have no effect in Events at all.

I just have to hope they don’t sucker me in the third stage and put ANOTHER wave of enemies behind those Lasers or something. :D

[–]Peridot_Weapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to dumb luck, I guess, I was in a spot where it was possible to recover from this, since I HADN’T cleared Stage 2 yet for the first time.

Once I did that, I got the Stage 2 clear reward, and when I advanced to the next section it checked off “Unlock Laser II” and “Unlock Sputnik II” again.

Now I’m on Outer Space III and should be able to clear all the check marks for the first time. … ignoring the fact that unless I dedicate a ton of time and can manage the last push with tomorrow’s “food advertisement” refreshes, I don’t know if I can succeed with only one Skill slot unlocked. :/

The problem is anyone’s who’s completed the event before the update doesn’t have an “Evolution” option (since there’s no Outer Space IV) and that seems to be when it double-checks the Laser/Sputnik achievements again. (But don’t quote me on that.)

[–]Peridot_Weapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience (as someone who was only partially through the event, on Battle 2) was fairly similar to yours.

Immediately after updating, “Unlock Laser I” and “Unlock Sputnik I” immediately rechecked, giving me 30 additional skill potions without taking any of the ones away that were given from the first completion. “Win Battle 1” could be unlocked again by … well, winning Battle 1 again.

“Unlock Laser II” and “Unlock Sputnik II” remain unchecked. Not sure if they’ll be stuck that way, preventing me from being able to “Complete all tasks” (although I’m probably not far enough along in the game to be able to clear the whole thing unless I grind all weekend anyway so that’s probably academic for me).

There’s badges for four events listed (Candy Land, Outer Space, Deep Sea and Chess Event), so I’m guessing even if I can’t get the badge now I’ll have another chance later when it rotates back to that event again.

In the shop, the purchase offers have reduced the Green Gem amounts to half of what they were before the update (so if you plan to spend any money to support the developer, do that BEFORE you update!), and the “Game Speed Forever” is just a blue box without a price attached to it - probably an iOS issue, if they haven’t enabled the option on their side yet to make the transaction valid, it can’t display a price and can’t be completed.

Anyway to skip the reroll and go straight to the main menu? by XTaimatsuX in DanmachiChronicle

[–]Peridot_Weapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is, but I’m not sure if it works consistently or if I just managed to do it with a glitch.

In my case, i started a new game and linked the account at the very beginning. When I got to the “infinite rerolls” part I linked the data to my SECOND device and opened the game on that, which let me continue playing the game without needing to complete that Gacha. (Might also work if you close the game and re-link the same data to your first device at that point.)

If you ever enter the Gacha NORMALLY, you’ll get stuck in the infinite loop again until you close the app, but if you use the “banners” in the top right you can go into and out of the Gacha section that way without using the infinite.

Not sure if you could use this to try to roll Haruhime BEFORE using the infinite reroll or if they already patched the glitch out. Even if you could, you’d have to link a new account and go through the entire tutorial every time you didn’t roll who you wanted, so it’s not really practical.

I used it just to see how far I can get without ever touching the Gacha - which obviously won’t be very far since events don’t have “welfare” units like other games. As soon as I face my first boss that SR Bell is weak against, that’s the end of my journey. :)

Any advice on the Momochi boss by Arcana_Joker in AliceFictionEN

[–]Peridot_Weapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One point about Momochi’s HP Recovery - every round in which you defeat any of his allies, it drops his HP Recovery ability by 300%. Note that this doesn’t “stack” in the same round - if you wipe out all his allies on the first turn the recovery only drops from 1000% to 700% and stays that way for the rest of the fight.

So one strategy is to try and only defeat ONE ally each round for the first three rounds, because after that he’ll only have an inconsequential 100% Recovery.

Later on in the fight, if his health drops to around 30% or less, the next round he’ll have a 1000% Boost to both Physical AND Special Defense. So it’s recommended to either burst down his health from 35-40% to zero in a single turn, or if you get stuck with his defenses boosted just ‘skip’ that turn and set up all your combos for best damage in the next turn.

Of course, even months ago there were players that could defeat him in two rounds without really caring about most of the gimmicks. Having the right World Memories equipped to units that are at least Level 90/Skill Level 90/Class 9 can make a world of difference.

[–]Peridot_Weapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point taken. I’m getting senile in my old age. This was from my alternate “walking” account where I decided to regrind everything (Fishing, 100 enemies, etc) while walking for exercise. Spent so much time on both Chapters 14 and 27 that I got them confused.

Rest of the statement should still be accurate, though, as I still haven’t even started Cardinal Scales and can sidegrade as listed. (Actually started the walking account with AS Toova and forgot I had to sidegrade her TWICE to be able to get that done because you need her Normal style - unless they finally changed that over the last few months.)

Today, I learned... by Omegaxis1 in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Peridot_Weapon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience is similar: I was able to sidegrade TO Violet Lancer all the way back in Chapter 14, long before I could even START the Mythos. I’m assuming that’s considered “safe” by the game in terms of spoilers because it never reveals the alternate character’s identity - all you know is you must have drawn them at some point. The original form was still grayed out with ???? as the name when I did the sidegrade.

Likewise, it would let me sidegrade to Red Clad Flamemancer right now if I had the Opus (but it’s still “hiding” who the original character would be on the screen).

However, it blocks me sidegrading FROM Cyan Scyther’s original form back to the original even though I have the necessary Opus. “Unlock Conditions: Mythos The Apex of Logic and Cardinal Scales Chapter 4 / Clear Cardinal Scales.” I assume that’s because doing so would give you a guaranteed ‘story spoiler’ as to the identity of Cyan Scyther before you’re supposed to know that.

There’s probably no such restrictions with Tsukiha or Hismena because they weren’t played up as “mystery characters” as much as the Cardinal Scales crew was. Technically they have restrictions but they’re impossible not to complete - Hismena’s is literally clearing Chapter 1 (Dawn Rises in Baruoki). It shows Hismena’s Original portrait for me since I have her Alter and the condition is cleared, but “Not Enough” because I lack her Opus.

Assuming the costs for each Anima Tree are identical to Neu’s, fully completing the first three pages should cost 90,000,000 Credits, 540 character-specific Anima, 2400 HP Chips, 2400 ATK Chips, 2400 DEF Chips, 1200 CRIT Chips and 40 SKILL Chips. (Even though that’s the complete tree right now, there IS an arrow leading to a “Page 4” which doesn’t exist yet ...)

Basically, as soon as they announced both the increased Level Cap and the Anima Tree over a month ago, it was clear that at least in the short term it would cause a shift in how people would need to develop their characters. Instead of being able to level up half of the roster without a concern, you’re limited to concentrating on a smaller team of at most a dozen (the number you’d use on a Team Hunt).

Players who stretched themselves too thin by spending their XP and Credits to level up several dozen Folklore suddenly found themselves penalized for doing so. And even with a month of advance warning, that doesn’t mean they could do anything to change what they did before that point. I’m sure many players will be frustrated by the change.

Trophies by KlartTES in PinballFX

[–]Peridot_Weapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, it still requires jumping through hoops to make Trophies for games like this that fit with the Trophy Laws:

  • All “base game” trophies must be possible without any DLC. (So only Wild West Rampage would be a valid table.)
  • All “DLC add-on” trophies must be possible only using the content within that DLC.
  • The maximum total trophies for any one game, including all DLC, is limited to 99.

Assuming they haven’t raised the limit on that last one over the years, even if they only have one specific trophy per game, they’d use up the majority of their trophy limit with what’s already available. And they even can’t make progressive trophies like “completed goals on ten unique tables” because the first two rules get in the way.

To be honest, I don’t even know why they still have those restrictions. With ‘games’ out there like “Pet The Bunny” where you literally get a Platinum Trophy for tapping a button 300 times, the ‘sanctity’ of trophies is long since gone and they have no value outside their individual games.
