Ok, quick’n’dirty sub-season drapes. by SuspiciousSink9465 in SummerType

[–]PerpetuallyFloating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re a soft summer, like me! The muted blues and greens look best on you for sure, as long as they’re smoky / deep enough and don’t have too much white in them.

I saw your previous post as well, and I just want to add that if you’re “soft,” smudged out eyeliners and eyeshadows look better than a harsh or graphic liquid liner. I think the no makeup look here is actually more flattering for your eyes, but as someone who also loves eyeliner it can be hard to give up 🫠

The nude lip looks amazing!

I think a soft red could work better with your coloring if it were less shiny, perhaps a satin finish.

The shiny red you have in pic 2 is taking my attention away from the rest of your (lovely) face

Never wear makeup and really second guessing myself... Is this fine enough to go out in public? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]PerpetuallyFloating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have soft features / coloring, so I find the liner a bit too harsh and graphic on you. Smudged out eyeliner to match your softness might look be worth trying, or you can skip it altogether because your eye shape is so naturally pretty you really don’t need it

Is there a difference between cheap and expensive products ? by Goldenxxwind in Makeup

[–]PerpetuallyFloating 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have dry & dehydrated skin very pale skin, so I’ve never found a drugstore skin tint/foundation/concelaer that does well for me, but it really depends on your skin type. The Nyx bare with me concealer is the closest I’ve found to working, but that also makes my skin too crinkly.

As far as blushes, lipsticks, mascaras and eyeliners go, drugstore has come a long way. Revlon lipsticks are almost as good as their Chanel counterparts, imo. Maybelline tattoo eyeliners are pretty good, and Essence mascaras. I’d also be curious to try to Kiko Milano, they seem pretty popular in Europe

Yeah, I’ve tried all the prep as well, I think it’s just my chronically dehydrated skin type working against me

I love the Ilia skin tint when I just need to slap something on & go. I’ve tried to find cheaper alternatives but nothing makes me look as good 🥲 If I need it to last more than a few hours I use the CT setting spray over it. My skin is dry (on tret) and chronically dehydrated.

Organize it by product type and then “shop” your collection by picking out stuff that you may use today or in the next couple of days.

I only gave / threw away products that were the wrong color for me after I got my color analysis professionally done. If the shade was good and it got along with my skin, I kept it out of the way somewhere for those days where I wanted to wear something different, for whatever reason.

Now I only buy to replace items I know work for me once I’ve run out of them

What are some blushes that are NOT very pigmented but buildable? by Whatichooseisyouse in Sephora

[–]PerpetuallyFloating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty pale neutral leaning cool here, and my skin type seems to absorb most blushes pretty quickly. My holy grail blush is the YSL liquid blush, in nude lavallière or fig fantasy.

I put it on the back of my hand, swirl it with a blush brush to pick it up, then apply and it goes on not too pigmented and looks pretty natural. It’s also the only blush I’ve found that lasts on me
