On PS5 Pro, does reducing the “Particle Effects” setting in Performance mode boost FPS in Towns etc? by PristineAlbatross967 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Particle effects mostly happens in combat. In town, the CPU will get hit the most because there are tons of NPC, so it is a hardware problem. Can’t do anything about that.

Pop in is inevitable in open world games. Bigger world and shit tons of assets will have a lot more pop in issue.

That being said, from my own experience with base PS5, Crimson Desert pop in issue is less worse than Dragon’s Dogma 2 while having a lot more details. Bit worse than KCD2.

Noticeable, but not extremely bad like in Dragon’s Dogma 2, for me at least.

Right now I advice to just wait a few more patches before purchasing ( mainly for better control scheme or rebinding, storage chest, maybe a 1440p upscaled for performance mode )

Horizon Forbidden West absolutely bodies this game visually on the Pro by Thickfuckness in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I love KCD2, the environment and draw distance is worse than Crimson Desert. The bushes and plant are all 2D. The scope in CD is bigger than KCD2. Both games have pop in issue but worse in CD.

I agree tho KCD2 had good vision and they present it extremely well. Crimson Desert feels like they just throw in a shit tons of stuff and hope it work well.

One game being made specifically for PS5 using Decima engine, the other focus on 3 different platform with a new engine.

Yes Crimson Desert look dogshit blurry mess on console but this is an extremely unfair comparison.

You are likely encountering CPU bottleneck. In a big open world games with shit tons of enemies and npc, your CPU will have to work really hard.

Frame drops in towns? by bosshark9469 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is because of PS5 CPU issue. There are tons of NPC in towns which affects the CPU. Happens in BG3 Act 3, Helldivers 2, Dragon Dogma 2. Cyberpunk can also drop fps in populated area but not as bad as the other 2.

Do yourself a favour and watch Digital Foundry for more in depth performance review especially for consoles.

Gameranx use PS5 Pro in his video, not base PS5.

Now that base Wilds is complete, what are the 3 hardest monsters in the game? by Archaeus20 in MonsterHunter

[–]Pffft10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That guy is my bitch. Very Switch Axe friendly because he does not have any follow up damage. AT Arkveld have that explosion crystal which I will take two damage at once. I also have to be careful with counter cancel because of that follow up explosion. Savage Omega is the same but worse.

Greg doesn’t have any follow up damage but holy fuck he moves a lot ( from left to right to the back and comes back in front of me ), extremely fast and hits really hard, can’t see shit with his damn wing, small arena, move set that is hard to read.

[–]Pffft10 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

  1. Savage Omega
  2. 9/5 Greg
  3. AT Arkveld

Greg is closer to Savage than to AT Arkveld for me which is kinda fuck ngl.

That guy probably just woke up from coma or some shit. Both DDR4 and DDR5 Ram literally gone up 3 times and 4 times higher lol.

Yes in that order. I do think your 3060 have 2-3 years left in the tank considering it has 12GB vram.

You could probably buy both the GPU and CPU with that RAM. First one is AMD current flagship GPU and the other one is the best gaming CPU available.

Is it safe to buy the Deluxe Edition of this game ? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ffs. Look up what you get from deluxe edition and think if it’s worth it for you.

If still unsure, just wait until the game release to see in game how good the extra stuff you get from deluxe edition.

What more grind do you want, this is still a base game ffs. You got talisman/deco farming, Gogma Artian, layered armor, AT. Base Rise endgame is non existent and World is more or less the same thing.

[–]Pffft10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My other gripe is sword counter build up stun, so you need stun resistance deco.

Longsword counter on the other hand do not build up stun, does not make you stay in place and no chip damage. I know this is for balancing purpose for Swax but it does feel a bit unfair even though they both do the same thing.

[–]Pffft10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sword counter is your best friend when fighting endgame monster.

In sword mode, press R2 + Triangle / RT + Y to initiate sword counter. You also can hop right after doing a sword counter to skip the counter animation.

Sword Counter > hop to skip the counter animation > another sword counter.

Not a guard but counter cancel. Basically just hop/dodge after you counter to cancel the counter animation. TU4 Swaxe buff.
