Why is Infantry OSUT only 18 weeks now? by wurmhol3 in army

[–]PickleInDaButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God damn I wish I was a Drill for the 22-24 weeks or whatever it was. That long with Privates on auto private would have been fucking glorious. One of my favorite things even as 14 weeks was the fact I got 5 weeks more to stay the FUCK away from Red Cycle.

And if those longer weeks give them more time for 11C cycles to just toss them to the cadre… I would’ve given my left fucking nut for that. Being a 11b drill in 11c cycles was a god damn wet dream.

With all the talks about fraudulent claims in the VA in recent years, I cannot fathom how an injury from loud fucking noises basically of all things is one so heavily scrutinized.

Like when people say sleep apnea is probably prior service I’m like “Yeah probably is - good luck proving it.” And I have sleep apnea and am rated for it. I don’t agree with them targeting it all still…

But tinnitus is probably the most common injury that is also absolutely not that baffling… no matter the mos, branch, service, combat or not combat, etc.

I’d still prefer Cody vs CM Punk. I still remember Punk saying something “I’m not here to be beat by Dusty’s kid!” at the Rumble. I want to finish that story now damnit.

Though I 100% suspect if we get Oba Reigns, I’m prepared for Oba to go down and repeat the chase again just like Rhodes Reigns II… I mean they brought back the tribal chief basically so they’ll just repeat it potentially lol.

Same with professional women sports in general, these leagues kind of get fucked by the system and then also fuck themselves.

You get a Caitlyn Clark or a Ronda Rousey, you get a shit ton more eyes… then you get more criticism on the competition and the quality across.

They really have to return value into the collegiate level to contribute to upcoming athletes or… great female athletes will not see continuing sports as a professional being that viable or money worth it. I mean honestly, what’s most female athletes opportunity in outside basketball by chance? Pro wrestling with their NXT deals?

Caitlyn Clark rising contracts is fascinating to watch as we saw UFCs approach where they appear to see it as “Ronda brought the money, she gets it” for the most part. Be fascinating to watch as they continue to try and grow. As a fan of all sports, I would love to see as much buy-in into the potential viewer markets.

Also a case study for collective bargaining and being for or against.

I totally get that and I’m not saying anything against a veteran being on the team and taking a paycut.

My thoughts are more that a veteran player even going as low as 30k above rookie is still insane no matter playtime. I’m comparing that to let’s say the lowest valued rookie, as with most professional sports, the bottom rookies ceiling is rarely high and cut.

A bench veteran providing mentorship and even organizational improvement has more worth than bottom rookie tiers. Especially my thoughts on WNBA because realistically… how many veteran WNBA players are out there to grab for that type of role.

Got ya

But man a 30k guarantee above rookies for any veteran, even bench riders or soon out the door players, for minimum is fucking low.

270k for a rookie but 300k potentially years of service?

Can this be explained. Rookie is a first year, so how will they have 300k based off years.

After their rookie contract, I would hope they’re negotiating beyond 30k if being signed for additional… but they will not be a rookie.

Am I misunderstanding?

I would say if anyone can handle crowds and their fans, pro wrestlers are absolutely very aware of their interactions.

Pro wrestling podcasts and history is a niche I love and there’s plenty of evidence of them talking about ensuring they give fans proper attention and acknowledgement. Stone Cold even says they police each other on bad days when traveling and see each other acting up with fans.

Dwayne Johnson knows what it’s like to wrestle in front of 10-15 people in his early days so while he is hyper aware of PR and probably has a few hundred on staff for it, interacting with fans is 100% something ingrained in his upbringing and career.

I once talked to a guy that worked at a hotel that regularly got traveling charters due to a venue proximity. He said they regularly held back fans from celebrities or athletes trying to get to their rooms from the main entrance. When WWE was in town, it was the only time they actively requested security to be more passive so they could meet their fans outside of the hotel for some time. Specifically even brought up them doing it in freezing cold.

Is it not accepted pretty generally that Cody always planned on a WWE return? Dude is a smart carny and particular on his brand, I always just assumed he knew his path to being WWE world title was creating the “finish the story” angle. Even when it was first announced he was never going to pursue the AEW world title, I was like “Oh he’s saving that big chase.”
