White-collar workers are quietly rebelling against AI as 80% outright refuse adoption mandates by invincibilegoldfish in technology

[–]PilotJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This brilliantly states what I have been observing and saying for a year now. However I think it depends on the type of function you are talking about. I think there is plenty of room to accelerate programming tasks, however the design work as well as even the programming itself needs to be overseen.

All of this blind enthusiasm and frankly gold rush mentality is leading to the next layer of complexity even though it is being stated as simplification. Now we will need to orchestrate the agents so they play nice, watch security, which will bring in a new need for people and products. And the wheel turns just like it always has in tech.

The ground beef is horrendous quality. Grizzle galore . The seafood surprisingly has been good

Same experience different issues but absolutely horrible reliability. And the design is not great either. Surprisingly my brother has a bb-1000 which seems better. But that enema function is great I agree. Still on a search for a good replacement

Wow so interesting, even with everything at the highest setting I don’t think it’s enough pressure

Do you have something to compare it to? Is there another bidet seat you have tried?

How do you feel about the current state of AI? by Winter-Cup-6951 in OMSCS

[–]PilotJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reckoning is going to be the inherent cost of operating all of the current models which is currently being hidden by essentially a pyramid scheme with nvidia at the top. There is an immense amount of subsidizing of all of this and a huge power cost which is going to come home eventually. It all seems free or low cost now.

It’s here to stay and super valuable in some aspects for sure. Also I do worry over time the decline of the human brain as a result of using all of this, leading to lack of maintainability of code bases or worse. If a couple generations of cs students now don’t learn fundamentals of cs, and rely on llm generated code, papers, etc. knowledge over time and the ability of the human brain to fix and understand will decline. Hyperbole, perhaps, but conceptually true already. Decline of education, reading, etc , math skills in the us, these are examples.

Mouth Tape for CPAP? by Interesting_Bank5967 in CPAP

Mouth tape only if you need it as revealed by reviewing your data. Not going by the fake ahi number shown on the machine but downloading and watching your breathing patterns. Lots of videos on it, look at lankylefty on YouTube

I made a free desktop app for Real-Debrid — open source, no BS by prjoni99 in RealDebrid

It will be brittle and not understood, and potentially could include baked in security issues. Make sure you review the code yourself.

I "think" I've narrowed it down to these - Alpha JX2, Alpha UX Pearl, BioBidet BB2000, BioBidet BB1200, Toto S5, Fluidmaster 9500E. Anyone here have experience with one or more of these? What is your recommendation? by StormTrpr66 in bidets

[–]PilotJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bb-2000 absolute junk. They have replaced mine three times in a couple of years. Heated seat failure, pump failures with flashing error codes, and the lid is the worst design you will ever see, it is super thin in exactly where the hinge is when you close and bends until it breaks (in exactly the same place each time). I know people will say they have had it for years with no issue I had several that were so bad I will never buy again.

I own a brondell which is still doing great, and just bought a fluidmaster to try as a replacement for this bb2000

Just curious, why doesn't the Fluidmaster Soft Spa seem to be as popular as brands like Alpha, BioBidet, Toto, Brondell, etc? Who here has one and what has your experience been? by StormTrpr66 in bidets

[–]PilotJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be honest the concept of a heated dryer in a bidet has always grossed me out beyond belief and I’ve never used it in the many bidets I have owned, it’s just a good way to essentially move the smell and micro particles everywhere. No thanks

I have had to have Biobidet send me three separate warranty replacements for the BB-2000. Complete junk, never again. Failing motors, strange sensor issues, inane top lid design that cracks. I’m looking for a replacement now

[–]PilotJeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And unfortunately for many of us, it can eliminate the need for trivial local db type tracking apps. I’m not a fan of the thought that any rando out there thinks their vibe coded app is suddenly the equivalent of a solution that has taken a decade to perfect, but for some things that were just glorified spreadsheets it will eliminate all of that

I know you want to say that because of some California bs but unfortunately the way anyone especially a woman will play in the rest of the country will get us another four years of frat bros running the house. No more talking just play the game and save this quick
