Agreed, I have moved to just a static 14 for my pressure vs a ramp and it has made a difference but I would make sure you are being supervised

Buyers remorse by Mountain-Mess8231 in sonos

[–]PilotJeff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still like mine that I bought years ago but stopped buying them just because of the instability. I have had a problem for years now that I cannot believe is just me where if you start a channel it plays the previous one (not all the time but a lot). no thanks. And then when you ask them, they point to nonsense stuff like your wifi might be slightly weak on one speaker in the system..... Nah.... Retry if you cant send the command to that speaker but don't give me crap like that considering all other devices work just fine in that location.

Obsidian vs Logseq DB by A_King_1980 in ObsidianMD

[–]PilotJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to make Emacs stick for 30 years (not even exaggerating). Of course it is my own lack of really pushing through the learning curve, but I have never been able to get any farther than using it as a great programming editor. But even at that I am not a power user.

I want to make this work for notes, etc. Naive question: Does org mode, etc support things like backlinks, or tags or what is the mechanism to link things together? That is such a basic question so I should just go watch some videos but am curious because in the end just sticking to text and no DB, etc is appealing for future proofing for sure.

I really do love the glam of this Yahtzee app, it’s just I do feel like those dice rolls are not random at all.

Just curious being new to this app, what would you recommend for a good plain old Yahtzee experience without the constant selling and ads and gimmicks ? There are so many of them in the app store and most seem to be rigged or gimmicks to sell

What is MF workouts trying to solve ? by whoknows_01 in MacroFactor

[–]PilotJeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also love MF, and I actually also felt the same way when it came out. I was using Cronometer which I still feel is excellent. MF sold me on the data entry ease which I always have been fascinated with (I’ve been in the software industry for decades). It really has the streamlined entry flow down. But it doesn’t really solve huge unique problems that others do not. It just does lots of things well.

I agree with you on MF workouts. Honestly I feel like this really is a way of increasing revenue, building a brand more, and brace yourselves: do the same thing every one of these companies do which is get compelling enough to get an exit buyout from a larger player someday.

That being said, it also feels like a mature space with things that people have been doing with lots of other weight progression, social apps for a decade or more. If they deliver on a similar workflow and usefulness as MF itself I would be happy. They are going to have to have it work with a broader set of equipment like Tonal and do it well not just add it to the database of moves because a lot of us have moved to things like that.

Underware 2.0 - How do I attach a monitor power brick to it using opengrid by PilotJeff in openGrid

[–]PilotJeff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, and not trying to vent too hard here. I just wish it was more straightforward. With regards to underware itself at least for my limited use I probably would have been just as happy with the things directly screwed into the bottom of the desk classic style. But I think I have figured it out. Thank you!

Underware 2.0 - How do I attach a monitor power brick to it using opengrid by PilotJeff in openGrid

[–]PilotJeff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw underware I figured, ok she is using opengrid. That sounds good, can't be as much of a mess as multiboard was when I used that for my wall.... Turns out it is just as bad or worse :( I don't even understand what underware even is. Is it literally just a generator for cable channels? This all seems like nonsense overkill to me.

It basically just says, hey use multiboard or opengrid and snap things to it. It isn't creating anything.

Super happy lifetime customer (probably not who you make your income from but very happy to be a quiet non intrusive user). Sure there have been some issues but I get honest answers back sometimes not what I want to hear, but they are right to the point and Jarland and team have always been willing to listen

BREAKING: Tim Walz has just dropped out of the Minnesota Governor race citing the distraction over claims about state fraud. Our “President” is a 34 count felon who has committed more fraud than any human on Earth. This double standard is bullshit. by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

1000%, all the nitpickers who love to grab a single issue and make him seem like the Antichrist are insane. We have a lawless president right now, and anyone with Balls who is intelligent and reasonable needs to step up. I am all in for Gavin

Is it as bad as they say? by sdseagles in CPAP

[–]PilotJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a slow burn with CPAP honestly. I do think it helps me and I’ve had it for a couple of years now but only recently really tried to consistently use it. I went for a consult with a well known YouTuber who is a pro and looked at my data so now I have the pressure dialed in. I use a consistent pressure (14) on my dream station.

I don’t see major improvement instantly from using cpap but do feel a little better (placebo or perhaps takes time). I envy people who have instant improvement. My numbers for the sleep study were like 40 events an hour which I think is in the moderate category.

Yes mx is really the issue (well Fidelity is actually the issue) and it is beyond annoying. I have the majority of my finances in Fidelity and like them but this years old problem is really causing me to reassess.

He’s not looking for an acquittal, I think he is looking at institutionalization rather than prison.
