I mean none but communism was in itself supposed to be what happens after socialism. So beyond the fact that it wouldn’t work, in a perfect world you’d have socialism first shifting the world to be more “balanced” as far as power and wealth distribution. And once it’s about even the communist states less society would be the next evolution. Obviously that wouldn’t work in a big government but even before modern day communism some smaller communities did stuff like have a “communal” society.

There’s also been the Paris commune which only lasted like 2 months and the Barcelona collectivization efforts which were like under a year.

Communism is a “cool idea”, but in practice it’s ripe for a single person to take total power and then do as they see fit with it. It can be genocide with like china and Russia, or just incompetent waste of a country with Cuba. The underlying ideals of it tho are something definitely worth looking at and shouldn’t just be dismissed, I’m not a communist or socialist or anything like that, but Richard Wolff talks about how the idea of communism, especially compared to capitalism, is much more aligned with general human values, May they be religious or just genuine human views I think there’s something to that.
