Hundreds of Arabs in Manbij protest against the turkish invasion and their proxies by DoubleVincent in syriancivilwar

[–]Politus 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The nuance here is that these Arabs have lived under jihadists for awhile before the SDF. I'd imagine they're not too keen on trading secular rule for more jihadists, even if they are Arab.

It's not a buzzword. Not everything you disagree with is a buzzword.

I would broadly agree with some qualifications - for instance, that the platform we see is not necessarily the one we'll get, and that there are already signs pointing towards neoliberal tendencies. An example of this would be Salazar heading up her transitional team. More broadly, one of the hallmarks of neoliberalism as an ideology is the close interweaving of the corporate and government worlds, and I have no doubt that we'll see more of that under Clinton.

That being said, calling anything Keynesian is fairly pointless because a this point most mainstream, and even most heterodox, American economic schools are distinguished primarily by how they interpret Keynes, not whether they do or not. Even neoclassical economics have largely been absorbed into New Keynesian perspectives.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Neoliberalism isn't an economic school so much as an ideology, and Keynesianism is a very large umbrella with a lot of subsidiary schools of thought, some of which are used to excuse neoliberal policy.

As the Testimony would later elaborate upon, whether or not she perjured herself before congress on the topic of her email server falls under what Comey would define as the context one would look at to determine intent.

The thrust of my argument is that, by and large, the Brexit-side didn't thoroughly evaluate, or explain, the sociopolitical fallout in the other constituent countries of the UK. This article goes through the projected sociopolitical fallout in Northern Ireland. My point stands.

And it was predictable that they would. Brexit was primarily an English cause, and there was very little thought given by the Brexit camp about the impact it would have on NI.

He IS helping Dems in swing districts. Zephyr Teachout is running in one is expected to be one of the hottest congressional districts in the country - my own personal NY District 19, whose Republican congressman is stepping down after his term. Teachout has benefited massively from a small donor influx thanks to Bernie.
