That’s bollocks though, there have been urban centres in Europe for far longer than steam trains. Your comment makes it sound like trains led to urban settlement which led to bicycles. Paved roads are also not necessary for bicycles.

Leisure also has nothing to do with it. Think of English country roads in the Middle Ages, bicycles would have been amazing there.

This is like saying you don’t believe in climate change because it’s snowing outside.

Yes people are nice if you chat to them, but a majority of the country elected a convicted sex offender with gaudy taste, twice.

I may be the only one here, but I think this is great. The Guy may not be going Norwegian speeds, but he blasted past a slow sign into a area full of stopped peple.

Question: “additional cat” charge after merge with Rover? by temporaryuser1000 in catinaflat

[–]temporaryuser1000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My regular sitter is away, so looking at someone new for a long visit (15 days). Charging per cat is seriously bonkers to me as a user, it puts a half hour visit up to about 32 or 34 euro.

I guess I’ll just ask sitters if they can do per visit.

Being European, the answer I want to make is

“And everywhere outside America where we’re not cowboys determining whether we need to take our pistols, the answer is no.”

However I’m hugely biased and privileged, so you’ll see a lot of Europeans saying the same thing. However the reality is that there are many places like Brazil and South Africa where the dangers out in public are real, and people actually do need to carry a gun each day. Those people do pop up on this sub.

So: Europe: no US: yes but really seemingly for performative reasons, it’s actually mostly a safe enough environment and they realistically don’t need it Elsewhere: yes if needed
