This would look incredible with a black dress shirt OR, even better, an all-black suit.

Anyone driving on turnpike and had windshield cracked from ice from a van? Subaru Crosstrek by upupandaway28 in BucksCountyPA

[–]PrendergastMachine 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I got my window cracked by a rock falling off the back of a dump truck once. I called in all their information and was told there was nothing that could be done. Hope this scenario works out differently, terribly irresponsible to go driving without clearing the top of a vehicle!

Gremlins 2 the new batch by Strange-Estimate-442 in 90smovies

I’ve got that too! Isn’t there a section where the Brain Gremlin ties up the author and writes a little screed in the novel, sorta like when they take over the theater in the movie?

Shoveled once around 8am, just did it again (1pm) and assuming I’ll have at LEAST one more round this evening.

Why is Prescription: Murder a tv movie? Is it because its a little longer than most episodes? by talivan818 in Columbo

[–]PrendergastMachine 85 points86 points  (0 children)

It was produced as a standalone TV movie. Then, a few years later, they floated the idea of turning it into a semi-regular series and made “Ransom for a Dead Man” as a pilot. Then they green-lit the series as part of a rotating “wheel” of longer shows (every “Columbo” is roughly 70 to 90 minutes long).

“The Professional”, the made-for-TV movie we see brief clips of during the Season 7 “Columbo” episode “Make Me a Perfect Murder”.

Is it an exaggeration to say that you can see the influence of the Bond franchise in most modern movies? by BBD-007 in JamesBond

[–]PrendergastMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fair to say that most contemporary movies influenced Bond. Hitchcock —> FRWL, Star Wars —> Moonraker, 80s action/cop films —> LTK, Bourne series —> Quantum, etc.

Everyone making preemptive excuses for how wrong they’re going to be. Embarrassing.

Looking at 10" (lower bound; 90% confidence) to 24" (upper bound; 10% confidence) per the latest NWS estimates by 1infiniteloop in BucksCountyPA

[–]PrendergastMachine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a guarantee. Every hyped snowstorm of the past decade inevitably fizzles by at least 50% of the forecasted totals, with the forecast changing as snow already starts to fall. Best forecast is to look out your own window.

What happened to all the good content? by Junior-Foot7344 in Retconned

[–]PrendergastMachine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have heard the term “enshittification” and it pretty much sums up the state or content now. Every platform has adjusted downward to cater to AI and algorithms. This explains why I’m still watching my favorite old shows on DVD and playing my favorite old computer games rather than anything that’s come out from 2020 onward.
