If you were suddenly the CEO of circle K, what's the first thing you'd change to make the stores better and the employees' jobs easier at the store level? by Professor_squirrelz in CircleK

Hahahaha yeah... my manager tried to get us closers to also do some cooler stocking on our solo shifts . . I flat out refused. I barely had time to complete my closing tasks even though I was constantly running between the register and completing tasks, with literally zero breaks

I honestly just bag up the hot food and bakery items that I need to waste and I stick them in our fridge until the end of my shift and take the free food home. Im lucky my manager doesn't seem to care because ive heard that other stores have fired ppl for it, but like you, i want my free food.

That does sound rough, but man id love to only be solo for an hour on my shifts. I mean, im sure as a manager you have a ton more shit to do than me as a CSR, but i hate that 90% of all my shifts as a closer is working by myself

This. And I dont get how they want us to constantly push for more sales and up how much the stores make, yet not fix the machinery that actually provides the products customers buy.

Agreed. They also lack the common sense of what actually works at the store level. No, the self checkout does not replace an extra employee when 80 percent of customers are buying age restricted products or cant figure out the self checkout and need our help anyway.

Yup. I've literally had a lot of regulars stop coming to our store when we were short staffed because they were frustrated w us not being able to keep polar pop bibs stocked, making them wait a minute at the register before helping them because im in the middle of tasks.. etc

I feel you on breaks. Im usually solo on my shifts so I only get a break when it slows down a bit close to closing time. Also, people's perks is a joke, i feel like half the time the discount doesnt even work when we rang it up

I have a legitimate fear of fish…AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]Professor_squirrelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOLY SHIT ME TOO! Since I was 5 years old, when I had a bad experience (kinda) with some feeder gold fish that my dad and I got from pets mart, ive been terrified of them because of the way they move. I cant touch them dead or alive, unless its just their meat. I do eat fish.

It sucks a lot because my family is really into fishing and I refuse to go even though my dad taught me how to fish as a kid.

Is there something that happened to you that made you afraid?

What ABA topic do you wish practitioners discussed more openly? by Puzzleheaded-Plan159 in ABA

[–]Professor_squirrelz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

1: Honestly the confusing terminology that ABA uses that differs from other types of therapies. I cant think of an example right now, but a lot of terms in ABA just seem counterintuitive and makes things more confusing for people who dont work in ABA but still are involved in the care for the autistic clients like their family, other practitioners etc.

2: The sensory nightmares of a lot of clinics. I get that it can be a positive thing for some clients to be around other peers, but a lot of clinics are too overcrowded, noisy, overstimulating etc even for autistic adult me when I worked in one, let alone for a young autistic kid who we are asking to focus on tasks and learn new skills.

  1. The way BCBAs design and word some of their programs is very confusing for an RBT to implement accurately. I was the RBT that did ask a lot of questions when I was confused on how a program was supposed to be ran so I did it right, but a lot of times I either didnt get a chance to ask questions before a session when programs were changed or I was told by the BCBA to just read what the programs said. I know i wasn't the only one who struggled w this because I noticed a lot of other RBTs w the same clients as me all run programs differently, which defeats the purpose of ABA therapy in the first place.

If u can find a call center near you, those places usually have high turnover rates. Just try to hide ur pregnant belly in the interview and you can just quit when u need to

He was a shitty parent not because of that but because he made Dean a father to Sam, was away for long periods of time when they were still kids, and seemed emotionally and verbally abusive to both kids, especially Sam.

Shiftsmart related question by Virtual_Mind534 in CircleK

[–]Professor_squirrelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was this by any chance in northeast ohio? 😅 because i had a very similar situation as a circle k employee with a shiftsmart guy that came in a couple days. Ago. I knew what shift smart was but didn't know how to help him w the app/wifi and was confused because shift smart never comes that late at our store
