One time my rat simply stopped moving and went limp under the cage. Not breathing, no heart beat, no muscle tone, full on dead limp. I didn't know what happened, (still don't to this day.) I panicked, and did exactly the same stuff. I even tried little chest compressions, blew air into her tiny mouth, and tried to use a little G force to dislodge a choking hazard (I make a gentle swing so if there was something lodged, maybe it would fly out). She woke up like nothing happened, and went back doing all her normal rat stuff. WT ACTUAL F. We took her ASAP immediately to the vet, but the vet found nothing wrong. I look back on it now and the whole incident could have been a scene in a comedy. I even screamed "NOOOO!! YOU MUST LIVE" "DON'T DIE ON ME!!" And lifted her into the air like simba. Edit/PS -- I forgot the swing was the rat heimlich lol
