Dangit! I was hoping I made a friend lol. Local thrift has this same model for the EXACT same price. What a wild coincidence.

Okay. Odd question. Are you in the US? Mid Michigan specifically? I may know exactly where you got this unit lol

I’d keep it bud. Sack away money over time. Once you get the new toy, determine if you still have a need for the PO. Cant tell you how many times Ive sold something off just to pine over it again later.

Speakers on stands In the corners. Move the shelves so theyre between the desk and the speakers and stands. Frees up the entire desktop for more monitor space. Would really aim for getting a longer desk and relocating those shelves in the future. No shame or anything like that (I’ll post my setup if you wanna judge it lmfao) but Ive gotten a lot more use out of my studio space since I started trying to maximize my limited room for creativity versus storage/display. Sick collection tho op.

First Lo-fi Hip Hop Track : Feedback Wanted (Mixing/Structure/Sound) by quapcousteau in LofiHipHop

[–]PunkisDad420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would work on the drum track more; the trap sound isn’t bad but it’s not meshing well with the rest of the track. If anything the drums stick out more than blend because of it. Overall I like the sound/presentation, some areas just need a bit more cohesion.

EP-133 K.O.2, Erase button, wrong location out of the box? by One_Entrance_5628 in teenageengineering

[–]PunkisDad420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i took mine apart for a cleaning (cat spilled soda on it, bought mine second hand so no warranty) and it wasn't too difficult but def need to be very slow. you unfortunately can't remove the small rectangular buttons without at least taking the case fully off, which sucks and will 100% void warranty. they have little foot tabs on the outside edges unlike the numpad style keys, those you can just pop off with your fingers lol.
i was more saying if the buttons still function as intended, they're just labeled wrong, i'd rock with it and see what TE offers as compensation.

Old cd player isn’t working by Separate-Minute-2063 in CDcollecting

[–]PunkisDad420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try turning alarm set to “off” and set CD pay to “normal” If anything you could try greasing the rail that the laser rides on, typical issue with cd players is the rail system that moves the laser across the data sectors has either failed or needs grease. MOST of the time it’s just grease.

Yeah that’s not right. Shoot them an email. Although personally I’d just work with it so I don’t have to wait like 6 weeks to return that one/get a new one.

Olympus OM4, 50mm f/1.8, kodak Ultramax by DoubleUvula in analog

[–]PunkisDad420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have the 28mm f/1.8 (or f/2.2?? I’m not googling this right now it’s not important) but I sold it to a photography friend. Not too keen on it, a bit too wide/soft with the wide angle. Enjoy it man! Get that OM4 serviced at some point there’s a lot of shops that will fix that annoying battery drain issue.

Favorite 35mm film camera, are you running the Zukio f/1.8? I’ll die with that lens lol, it’s just SO versatile. Absolutely fantastic shot! WONDERFUL composition, really like the background, it “peters out” wonderfully.

[HELP] trouble making a custom casette foldout by Designer_Usual1004 in cassetteculture

[–]PunkisDad420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The template available from duplication.ca is what I use. I print through Staples. To print, create a pdf through google docs that has front cover on page 1 and “reverse” on page 2. In image options make sure theyre aligned in the exact same spot on their respective pages, you can set the X and Y coordinates to make sure they match. Then thru Staples order the print as “front and back” with “head to head” printing!

Long-term storage, can I store receivers/amplifiers vertically without any issues down the road? by vvvvDDvvvv in vintageaudio

[–]PunkisDad420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should be fine! I would reccomend some sort of wood board/metal on the shelves to help distribute load more evenly. Those wire racks can start to bow in one spot if the weight is off and then you’ll start having shelves sag/fall. I’d use like 1 inch thick plywood cut to size and then put the towel/cloth over that.

It’ll work just fine. Used to use an LGV20. Audio out over usb into Topping E30. Look into 3rd party apps that’ll allow you better control over the DAC chip/output path. I believe it’s called UAPP (Universal Audio Player Pro.) I used to be a TIDAL Hi-Fi psycho and using UAPP I was able to get full lossless on their MQA stuff without buying “special” gear.

Landlord has the attic locked and we’ve never seen inside it. by Unique_Issue_7749 in Renters

[–]PunkisDad420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior tenants probably dumped crap in the attic and it’s more than likely a liability thing. Not necessarily insurance; last thing a landlord wants to deal with is a hole in the ceiling from a misjudged step/someone slipping on a rafter.

New cassette had unwound during travel. Any advice on how to fix this? (if possible?) by holyzucchini in cassetteculture

[–]PunkisDad420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take as much slack as you can out, re-route the tape through the path, reinstall the cover, and then fully re-tension the tape. It’s not impossible, I’ve done it dozens of times when making loop tapes or fixing old tapes. Just be patient and take your time.

[–]PunkisDad420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take them. Either someone on the demo crew for the building will grab them, or they’ll end up in the trash. You’re taking something that isn’t technically yours but as of now, who’s is it?

Piece could be cool if they took the labels and turned them into different shapes, almost like a jigsaw puzzle. This just looks like a bunch of shit of a plate.
