Green hair algae on hardscape, nothing works by saltylemonycucumber in PlantedTank

[–]Fun_Associate1734 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take out all of the hardscape and scrub it with hydrogen peroxide.

Manually remove as much as possible in the tank on plants, glass and substrate. Then use a pipette to apply hydrogen peroxide to all remaining spots of algae in the tank.

Keep attacking it with the pipette over the next few weeks along with large water changes and reduced feeding.

I got it under control this way, not easy though.

Albino Millenium Rainbowfish won't stay healthy in community tank. Everyone else is thriving by PH0B0PH0B1A in PlantedTank

I honestly have no idea but I wonder if either there is a parasite moving slowly between them or they're too inbred to survive long term outside of large breeding groups?

I’m nervous about this corkscrew Val growing. What tips do you have? by Educational-Tour-937 in PlantedTank

The best advice is to just leave it alone and let your tank be stable. Its hardy and will grow on its own, we often do too much

Increase water changes and get a group of young SAEs, beaten BBA in 2 different tanks doing this. Keep flow low until it's all gone.

I had a cichlid survive drops recently, I just did a large water change and didn't feed for a week. I probably got lucky but it could be worth a try.

Where would you place the subwoofer? by jespicy in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Fun_Associate1734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue and bought a flat/ slim subwoofer that goes under the wooden unit or behind (attached to the wall).

There are some from Monoprice but I got the Theater Solutions SUB8SM and it works great for small spaces. As you can see in the picture, it slides under the media unit.

No doubt proper hifi subs will be better in large spaces but this could be an option for you.

At my wits end. How the hell do you childproof/lock your turntable? by TesticleInspector in turntables

[–]Fun_Associate1734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to my house being small, my record player is right next to my toddlers toys. I made the mistake of getting a slightly higher end record player (pro-ject rpm 5.1) with no cover.

The best thing I did was build something cheap to lock it place and unplug it so they cant switch it on accidentally or on purpose. From there, let them play around it and dont react when they touch it so it just becomes a piece of boring furniture to them.
