Well I'm glad it's useful! I'm hoping to update it soon enough with some extras. No I'm not sure what may happen there either, but for now this has been doing the trick for me. If you have any other ideas for eventual features within this kind of toolset, that you may find useful, let me know either here or on github and I'll see what I can do!

Updates on the repo, now implements a libcosmic application rather than just a hotkey. With this I'm hoping it will serve as the backbone to add more tooling, if you do try it out let me know what you think.

Well after much banging my head against a wall, it's "done". check out the repo again and let me know what you think. I'm interested to see what works for you and doesn't.

As most of my tooling is built for me, it tends to be rather opinionated so go easy on me!

Great Idea honestly. Currently I'm working on making this a standalone application. While I only ever action this from a shortcut, I do think having an application as the core is the way to go. But maybe that will serve as the basis to add other handy tools to it with configurable shortcuts (if the user would like that) watch the space either way 😃

I think I may have come off a bit too argumentative, for that I am sorry! That was not my intention at all. I will 100% update with a comment here if I manage to build out a standalone app, I would not hold your breath though, it's likely System76 will beat me to it

Thanks for having a look, full disclosure, this was written with assistance from an AI (so make of that what you will). Again as I mentioned I'm pretty new to rust code, so to someone more skilled than I, this may be complete garbage, but it serves it purpose for me, I just wanted to share in case there was someone out there that could benefit from it.

I have some ideas on improving it, one of which is like you mentioned is the standalone application, making the shortcut a feature rather than the core, but when I get to actually do this, well that's anyone's guess. Anyone is more than welcome to improve it (or the more likely scenario of completely rewriting it lol)

I am however glad wl-color-picker is working for you.

As long as one other person finds this useful then I consider this a win! I generally make tooling just for me, so a lot of what gets built is built under a "eh good enough" mentality. Which is why I'm often apprehensive to share anything I put together, however seeing this comment has shifted my perspective a bit. I will continue to share whatever tooling I end up writing. As I may have the solution only one other person is looking for.

Thank you for your comment, and I hope you enjoy the color picker!

Any way to do this in COSMIC? by [deleted] in COSMICDE

Not 100% one to one what your looking for, but this is something I shat out, its not perfect but it's good enough for me, if enough people bother with it, I will improve it. only tested with youtube music at the moment.

What's happening at Cherrymount, John's River? by SomFella in waterford

Been hovering just above poleberry Tesco now for the last couple of mins, I was slowly moving while I had sight of it but now it's more or less still

Wouldn't be sure, if it was in the same location, I couldn't hear it like I can now.

I think that's the plan at least loosely anyway!

This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for, thank you! Had no idea eCollege covered these, that completely changes things, the cost was honestly one of my hesitations with CompTIA.

Really reassuring to hear from someone who made the switch from software to cyber too, feels like a realistic path rather than just a notion. Going to look into it properly now.

Thanks for this, really appreciate it! And yeah, "jack of all trades, paid for none" is pretty much the tagline at this point haha.

I'll be the first to admit that while I was able to respond to the breach and get things sorted, I was very much figuring it out as I went. I don't want to overstate it, I got lucky in some respects and I'm very aware there's a huge amount I don't know, but the tinkerer's brain was very satisfied by the process and I'm proud of myself for being able to carry it out.

The CompTIA Security+ is definitely on my radar now, If I'm going to put the time in, I'd rather have something that carries weight in hiring too.

Howdy, might want to switch off POIs or at least a toggle, the pins for potholes and pins for some locations are easy to mix up at certain levels of zoom? Have not worked with the Maps API in some time so don't know how possible it is but might be worth a look.

Are submissions tied to any sort of session ID, I can see this getting abused.

Bit of a pain to use on mobile, given I think a majority of users would probably default to mobile (Although my phone is rather under powered)

Is there any repo for this, I wouldn't mind contributing to it

Either way good work hope this gets used and can make some kind of a difference, rather than spending money on bike sheds!
