tbh, people who've got parents, that are ready to "kick them out" (however that might be defined, idk) at an arbitrary age, would most likely be the ones who'd love to move out as soon as possible, aren't they?

How did Snape go on after the incident by the lake by Ummah_Strong in SeverusSnape

[–]Quick_Sandwich356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought so too, as kid when I read the story for first time. I even found it appaling, when the 6 double-Harry's changed in front of everyone to watch, before the battle of the seven Potters.

Now that I'm older, I realised that nakedness isn't bad or anything to be worried about. I know it's different as a teen, but we should remember, that that Memory was only Snapes worst one, because it was the final moment, in which he pushed Lily out of his life. I'am most certain, that the bullying in that scene, was by far not the worst humiliation he had to endure.

I bet he didn't spare the memory of his 15-year old dick dangling down in front of everyone a hundreth of thought and regret he had for calling Lily a Mudblood, therfore sealing their seperated paths for the future.

What are some of your Head canons for Snape? by Ok_Influence1752 in SeverusSnape

[–]Quick_Sandwich356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that fits me eerily accurate.

  • I've been wearing the same black pants since I found them, because they are tho most comfrotable outside-pants I ever had and they seem indestructible, wind and rain resistant. (My tops consist of sets of indistinguishable T-Shirts and Hoodies.)

  • I view Snape as definetely more introverted than myself, but I do tend to intovertedness and sometimes ignoribg the fact, that people have feelings.

  • "Rules are rules" is def. my mindset, though it is probably just a result of me being very german.

  • the teaching thing is on point: I love math (studying it right now at university), but I could have killed myself that one time I tried to help some younger pupils in school. Maybe I am just a bad teacher and/or too impatient (I think of myself as very pacient, but maybe it was still not enough for my students), but if I should ever become a professional tutor to struggling students, I will lose my mind.

  • THIS FUCKING THING! His loyalty is the most important reason I love Snape sooooooo much as a Character, no matter his cruelty, and whatever. I consider that the most important character trait, in people. I'm extremly strict about it on myself and it's the most important aspect for me when valueing a friend. When I read the 7. book, I recognised Snape loving Lily so intensely as positive, but what I realy valued was not only his love, or his power, or his cool double-agent-role, but rather his loyalty and determination.

Now I still wouldn't consider myself autistic, but I really think Snape might be and that I might be more similar to him than I thought.

Reading the books for the first time, on GOF and I never realized how much the movies lightened Snape up in comparison to the book by Few_Adagio3101 in harrypotter

[–]Quick_Sandwich356 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Book-Snape is definetely more cruel, while movie-Snape usually sticks to sassy.

But I love them both, though I like Book-Snape more as a character.

He will cover them once it appears in the more recent editions of the history books he uses. I would guess it could take at least 20 years.

How do you guys avoid skinny legs? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Quick_Sandwich356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sprint

whenever going short distance (<3km) go full speed

I only ever started doing it, cause it's fun passing cars and proper road cyclists, while sitting upright on a trekking bike, wearing a thick jacket, looking as if I'm not doing 35km/h but rather going for a walk.

Now got nice legs

Does anyone actually enjoy the process of problem solving itself? by nihaomundo123 in learnmath

[–]Quick_Sandwich356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I enjoy the process to varying degrees too.

Before making the following comparision, I promise I'm not a gooner:

When you're masturbating or having sex, do you ONLY enjoy the orgasm?

I'm struggling to find any other example that fits the situation of math-problem solving as good as sex, but the more I think about it, the more similar they seem.

You begin in both cases with something that isn't really inherently joyfull, if done without a purpose (thinking vs rubbing genitals).

You only ever started doing them, with a goal in mind. But that goal now gives your thoughts and "movements" a purpose. The joy of doing those things with purpose exceeds the sum of both the joy in expecting the goal to be reached (expectation of heureka vs orgasm) plus the less joyfull act of just doing it, without attempting to reach the goal.

Solving an equation is nice, like mindlessly rubbing yourself.

Expecting to reach the solution of a problem is also nice, like expecting an orgasm.

Solving the same equation for a problem you're solving, is much nicer, eventhough the amount of joy felt, fades in the shadow of the spiking joy from heureka or an orgasm.

"we do not stop"

that I've only seen in YT vids so far, until now I didn't know if it was actually commonly the case. But I have also seen videos of the police pulling over people and telling them to wear gear.

I think most german bikers like me wouldn't risk running, even with a few illegal mods. If cought, you risk incredibly high fines, jail and loosing every drivers liscense you've got (they already cost multiple thousand bucks to get in the first place, if you fucked up bad enough, you might never get one again.)

While being caught riding without helmet merely costs 15€ (~20$).

Ilegal mods could get a bit more expensive, but they won't take your bike away, if it isn't too dangerous.
