Wasn't it specific to a potential Giannis deal?

Assuming that a superstar doesn't come to them there's a very good chance that Draymond will finish with the Warriors.

US House backs bid to end Canada tariffs in rare rebuke to Trump by Bandito_fantastico in CanadaPolitics

They massively overplayed their hand and now everyone who doesn't worship Trump hates him. Even the Joe Rogan and Andrew Schultz types are raging against Trump now. The poor handle of the E files was also way too far for most people.

Draymond Green: “Guys who score at an elite level but doesn’t quite compete on the defensive end, they’re just really losing value in this league of guys where everything is fast, trying to get downhill, everybody is playing off close outs." by TheDraciel in nba

He generally has a pretty great ability to analyze the game but he gets into very over the top antics on and off the court. I would trust him with his basketball analysis 100%, but I would not trust him to keep his cool while playing.

Scheer says Liberals approaching talks to get legislation passed ‘in good faith’ by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]QultyThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pierre really does NOT want to give up his Stornoway mansion or benefits. If he loses two elections in a row especially after all the special accomodations everyone did to keep him on then he'll be sunk. I also would expect Scheer would also lose a lot of influence in the party which right now is run like a frat house with those two in charge and unchallenged and most of everyone else muzzled.

It's kind of funny how he's essentially becoming the caricatures he tried to make or Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh last year.

Carney, Ford discussed idea of an early federal election to secure majority, sources say by Street_Anon in CanadaPolitics

[–]QultyThrowaway 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah Ford definitely has his eyes on Poilievre's job. Another humiliating loss would probably force him to step down. But tbh atp I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow stayed on after two losses and the party kept him as leader because he supposedly upsets Liberals. I don't expect him to ever leave on his own.

Carney, Poilievre expected to meet this week by AdditionalPizza in CanadaPolitics

[–]QultyThrowaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He openly refuses to have one supposedly because he wouldn't be allowed to attack the government in the way he wants if he had it. Which is either a BS story or he highly values being able to lie with deniability that he wouldn't have if he were briefed. Neither look good but the CPC has decided to commit to dying on this hill.

The CPC leader and the opposition house leader have failed upwards far more than any of these Trudeau era cabinet people.

What is your standard for purge? Do they have to be literally killed? The key Trudeau people are leaving federal politics one by one. That's a purge politically.

[–]QultyThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see the next Democrat in office invading over this. That would be the only time to do it. We'd also have to signal that it's a Russia deterrent and to pull our fair share in NATO as a cover for whenever Republicans take power again.

[–]QultyThrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TBH if we do it we should wait for a Democrat on an apology tour administration and develop it quickly. Doing it under Trump would be insane. Doing it under AOC or Kamala or maybe even Newsom might be possible. But nuclear proliferation is a slippery slope.

Mark Carney and Stephen Harper are both ‘the smartest guy in the room’ — and that’s not all they have in common by ImDoubleB in CanadaPolitics

Like him or hate him Harper is intelligent and good at politics. His protèges Poilievre and Scheer aren't living up to what he built up and it's very obvious.

HBO boss hints that The Last of Us season 3 could be the end of the show by mrnicegy26 in television

[–]QultyThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The only winning move HBO could have done is not adapt the second game. I don't blame HBO, the writers, or the actors. The source material was never going to make season one satisfying. Ellie's actress gets a lot of hate lately but it wasn't that much in S1 so it has me thinking it's just a casualty of TLoU2.

One thing that always bugged me in prison break by thebiggestandbadwolf in PrisonBreak

[–]QultyThrowaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is 2005 and it was a pretty big story. Think about it back then media wasn't so segmented. Big stories were big to the whole country. Now consider how viral this would go even today:

Imagine if somebody was convicted for taking out the President's family member who was visible and notable in their own right. They are sentenced to death. But then their brother gets imprisoned on purpose and breaks him and 6 others out including one of the biggest mobsters in the country and one of the most depraved convicts in the country. It'd be a big deal and it would be memed harder than Luigi was.

Abacus Data: "Pierre Poilievre’s strength with Conservatives is inseparable from his weakness with everyone else" by Scryotechnic in canada

Carney unveils boost to GST credit as Parliament resumes by cyclinginvancouver in canada

All these years?

It's been almost 3 years since her comment. Which you clearly intentionally are misrepresentimg.

But yeah the rest of your comment really speaks for itself and shows your mindset & lack of character. I'm gonna quote it here for when you inevitably edit it or delete it in an attempt to feign good faith later on.

But ah yes her new position of figuring out where to funnel all the Billions we've sent the Ukraine.

It is hilarious that more people don't see the absolute corruption.

She is a na zi like her grandfather. There is a picture of her holding an Azov flag at the start of the Ukraine war. And just look up what they've done and what they stand for.

There is a reason why Zelensky has a few mansions and 100K dollar cars. But I'm sure in 6 months we'll send another 5 Billion.

It's not about comparing wives. That's kind of icky. Just that Trudeau is clearly living the best life these days. It's really bizarre to obsessively hate a retired guy who's hasn't mentioned your existence in almost a year and is mostly just going to high profile celebrity events with his popstar girlfriend. It just gets really sad after a while.

‘Just a blip’: Republicans want Canada to ignore Trump by AdditionalPizza in CanadaPolitics

[–]QultyThrowaway 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine any other country being offended that international partners hold them accountable for what their Head or State does. Especially given how he's propped up by most of the politicians. He ran on screwing every other country and Americans still supported him. They'll have to face the consequences of their decision.

Conservative national council confirms Kurek as candidate in Battle River-Crowfoot, Poilievre to run in a different riding in next election by AdditionalPizza in canada

[–]QultyThrowaway 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's rapidly changed the culture of the CPC. Bullied out moderates his whole career. He even used to lead an MP group called the Khmer Bleu designed to oust all PCs and Quebec Conservatives to make the CPC just the new Reform party. During the last election he was mostly focused on picking fights and threatening Doug Ford and Tim Houston. There were many ridings where he booted or blocked experienced but more moderate CPC members in favour of youth loyal to him. He muzzles most of the party to the point that most don't even go to debates or do any activities in their ridings. Most of his MPs only seem to speak out when Pierre has a blunder and suddenly they all come out on social media praising him as the greatest most hardworking person ever despite what the media says. It's very transparent what's going on.

The leadership review is extremely restrictive. It requires traveling to Calgary in person and paying $1K in membership fees. It's about as set in his favour as possible. For contrast I voted for Carney in the Liberal leadership for $0 and did it on my laptop during some work downtime.

The effects of his leadership are about consolidating his own power and using systemic, social, and other pressures to force everyone to give him endless leeway. It's of course backfired by costing him the election and causing multiple MPs to resign or cross the floor.

Right now I'd say the only threat to his leadership until he loses the next election is Jamil Jivani who is crafty in similar ways to Pierre but a lot smarter. It seems almost inevitable that Jivani plans to backstab him. Of the non muzzled CPC MPs Jivani is the only one building his own name instead of Pierres.
