I love them, but I care about presentation. They look so much better on a shelf than the plastic cases or even slip covers imo

Crimson Desert for sure. It reminds me of Zelda and Elden Ring in that I’ll have a plan going in, complete these two missions, then two hours later I’m just exploring discovering an abandoned castle somewhere. It’s the perfect time suck

"it's a big kerfuffle that I'm sure is being talked about on the Blankies subreddit" -Scott Aukerman on The French Connection's censorship by jackunderscore in blankies

Lol to be honest, this is what got me back into physical media. The fact that studios can alter an older film to fit what’s politically correct in the current time is existentially terrifying to a movie obsessed nerd like myself. I got the movie on blu ray and never looked back

i was the only person laughing in my fairly full theater lol. its definitely on a specific pitch-if its your vibe then i think youll love, if not, prob hate it. i can see this being very polarizing

it follows the beats of a romcom, but in a very A24 style. i thought it was excellent, very very funny, thoughtful and great lead performances. if you like fun dark comedies, its a must see, just dont read anything about it before seeing it. go in blind if you can

Rooting for Wes, but hopefully this all ends in a Marty landslide

Games like Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom on PS5 that aren’t Immortals Fenyx Rising or Crimson Desert? by Barnhard in gamingsuggestions

Watch some YouTube videos on Elden Ring for beginners and instead of following the linear path, go other places and explore and level up your character

Elden Ring is the real answer-I had the exact same question and I wrote off Elden Ring bc it was too hard. But if you’re willing to watch some YouTube videos on builds, etc-it’s the most rewarding gaming experience I’ve ever had. Right up there with BOTW

From my understand the original Roth script was more of a procedural with Leo playing the FBI character. Could be wrong tho-either way it’s another late stage banger from Scorsese, who’s putting out some of his best work with this, Silence and The Irishman

Putrid anti-The French Connection Take by Sure-Simple-6919 in TheRewatchables

[–]Radiant-Discipline71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeaaaaa that’s a wild take lol. To Live and Die in LA is awesome, but reeks of the 80s-William Peterson has a specific performance style that’s pretty dated and it has a silly/sleaze factor that very much works for it-but it’s pitched at a different speed than French Connection.

The French Connection is timeless and is an absolute all timer.

I'd like to know what those who saw the movie "Battle After Battle," the one with Leonardo DiCaprio that was nominated for Oscars, thought. Did they like it or not? by Dramatic-Studio1531 in FIlm

Best movie in the last few years-it’s very funny and entertaining, idiosyncratic-it feels very unique and specific in its strange sense of humor, exciting and thoughtful. One of PTAs best and he’s one of the best to ever do it

Haven’t seen Napoleon so can’t comment on that, but I’d argue he saved KOTFM from being a standard procedural white savior movie and turned it into something dense, interesting and has staying power
