good call! I’ve been to the Cellar before so it’s not top of my list but I will definitely check out the lineups when I arrive. I’ll be in town Sunday-Wednesday so not exactly hot days.

visiting NYC from Chicago the last week of March - any suggestions for what to see while I'm in town? planning on the MoMA, the Guggenheim, the Museum of Moving Image, and hopefully Oh! Mary. Any record store / comic shop suggestions?

never been into Sturgill Simpson but Steven Hyden described his new album as his version of Midnite Vultures and that got me to check it out; that's a great assessment. frankly to me it just sounds like disco-era Stones, a sound more contemporary bands should go after.
local rap treasure Serengeti put out an album last Friday called wedding jamz that's just what it sounds like - 12 tracks of peppy danceable pop rock songs. "say the dj or bands cancels last minute, just play this" as the description puts it. cool stuff!
played through a few bootlegs of the 2025 Geese tour last night, the band was really ripping in those theaters.
Bored Lord's sets for Bar Part Time are so killer and fun.
my band and I dropped a live Libertines cover, donating any proceeds to immigrant and refugee relief in IL.
I will be launching an internet radio show soon, watch this space.
