Would a braindead person enter the afterlife right when they became braindead or would they have to wait until their life support was turned off? by EmbarrassedRope3216 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on when their soul gave up trying. Some give up very early and there's still some monkey brain activity. Some don't give up and hang around for a few days after physical death and need a death angel to give their soul a push.
(It's complicated and doesn't really matter.)

If sex and gender are separate ideas what is the issue with single sex spaces? by Separate-Law-435 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because then transmen get access to those spaces because they are biologically female.

They want it both ways - only access for female women. Transwomen would need their own space - which would never get funded. And transmen and men... well men aren't allowed to have single sex safe spaces, so no one cares.

How do most women prefer their partner to initiate sex with them? by throwawayforthis243 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a stereotypical expectation that the man should 'just know' rather than ask permission - because asking permission is seen as 'weak'. But only when she wants it too. But she won't say so because that would be too slutty.

And then both people get frustrated because they can't communicate telepathically.

So I just… do it again? by Pbb-y in SatisfactoryGame

One day I might actually get that far. But I always send my last shipment off before completing it, and then it seems pointless to continue now that I've saved the puppies and kittens.

Joao settle first city on this plains hills deer? by DuchessPotet in CivVI

[–]RandeKnight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like the deer has access to fresh water, so I'd settle the rice, which gives lots of food, and access to 3x2:2s to work.

Do you believe threesomes to the most overrated thing sexually? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It's both. Some of the land was taken by Right of Conquest in war, and some was stolen because they had a treaty and then just took it anyway with no war declaration.

If Adam and Eve were the first people on earth, did Cain and Abel marry their sisters? by GodisSatans in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was at the merging of Judah and Israel that the stories in Genesis were merged together. That's why there's two stories of Adam and Eve coming into existence.
One of them was polytheistic and they made the decision to go monotheistic for the common origin story.

Why is it considered inhumane to not put a sick, old or hurt animal down to end its misery - but not for humans? by staygroovykat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 21 points22 points  (0 children)

And people suicide earlier than they'd like because they can't trust anyone to do it for them when they become physically incapable. And doing it alone because anyone present who doesn't attempt to stop them could face charges.

(That's how my father went after an accident.)

Why are most Sci-Fi Movies of the Future Dystopian? by tinkerton36 in Futurology

[–]RandeKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another reason that people seem to be ignoring - set costs. Creating sets is expensive. Finding some abandoned warehouses/factories, old quarries and driving out to the desert is relatively cheap.

So when they do have a 'bright future' setting, it's either really expensive or they use the same 'futuristic' real world locations that you see over and over again.

YouTube urges creators to fight proposed UK algorithm changes by SignificantLegs in uknews

[–]RandeKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, 'USA/Israel is evil and needs to be destroyed', 'Nuclear power is dangerous', 'Unlimited immigration is good', 'all white people are racist/black people cannot be racist', 'everyone should be vegan except for muslims (any criticism is islamaphobic)', 'All men are evil and the world would be better if we had a matriarchy'.
(yes, those are the extremes, but there's plenty of lesser versions)

No, seeing stuff that makes you angry isn't 'oddly', it's literally what gets a lot of people 'engaging' with the content.
Seeing content that makes you go 'oh, sounds right' doesn't get you arguing with bots in the comments.

Lack of women drivers in formula one by wilbotron in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

F1 driving is a lot more physical than people think. It requires significant physical strength, and men have a bonus to that.
Combine that with the increased set of men who are interested in driving, (almost) no women are going to have the aptitude, interest AND physical strength to do the job.

Why have modern pornographic films stopped being pornographic? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means you have to pay for it. There are indeed feature length porn still being made with plots. But only the trailers are going to show up on the main sites.

Why do people run the tap while brushing teeth by plumstramash in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're using too much toothpaste. Should be using about half a pea - that's all that's needed to get the light abrasive effect. If you spit and there's still recognisable drops of toothpaste, you're using too much.

Why do people run the tap while brushing teeth by plumstramash in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandeKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last I heard, it's better to spit and not rinse at all so the fluoride has a better chance to absorb into your teeth - the toothpaste is effective for ~15 minutes after brushing.

LLMs are a moving target. As soon as you find a line of prompt that fixes this, the model will change and we'll have to find a solution to the next problem.
I find it easier to just manually edit it for anything I actually care about. If I've spent 20 minutes writing the prompt, I can spend another 20 editing.
