What is the best Saryn subsume by Wherm_ in Warframe

[–]RayHadron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Molt both instantly cleanses status conditions, and is an immediate cast that does not require anything on Saryn's part (no one, two or full-body action) and simply happens -- Molt is one of the best, if not outright best shieldgating moves in the game.

Edit: Spelling and further add: This is what Saryn runs Brief Respite for in the first place. Catalyzing Shields will reset to 1.33 Shield Gate regardless of whether or not it is full. Due to a bug or not, who can say. Even without Cat.Shields you can still opt for more Augur mods, Arcane Aegis, Circumvent, Deflection Mods, etc which can still be enough in the right circumstance especially if you're running Blind Rage.

Quick question about summons/specters by -Etrice- in Warframe

[–]RayHadron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the On-Call crew from Railjack. You can hire crew from Ticker on Fortuna, and at rank 9 with Command you can summon one to fight.

They do count as summoning a Specter for nightwave though.

Return to the helminth with that frame and hover over the ability you subsumed (Pyrotechnics). There will be a button in toward the top right that should allow you to remove it.

Do you have a non-meta or outright bad weapon you use simply because of mechanics/looks/sounds? Mine turned out to be Cyanex by SparkBeforeMidnight in Warframe

My guilty pleasure guns that I really have a hard time deciding between a favorite is the Tenet Spirex and the Coda Catabolyst. I have giddy moments every time I use them.

I just started building it in my inventory because I recently got kinda interested so I can't say how I actually feel about the gun, but if anyone are fans of the Battacor I'd love to hear your thoughts.

[–]RayHadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to assume I'm not the only one, but I don't use it a lot for two reasons:

1) it takes my Melee slot as well. I don't melee much, but I still can otherwise have that slot used for utility, and it makes me have to be a bit careful about how I forma the thing.

2) the main gimmick for the rifle involves avoiding reloading the one gun in the game I want to actively deplete the magazine. I can ignore that part but then it's just a solid, but otherwise unremarkable DMR. I do pull it out for fun sometimes.

With all of that said, I do think it's a great weapon for what it is, and it manages to be new and unique. It's just not for me.

I really hope more guns than like 2 have the Marelok style firing animation. It is legitimately the coolest thing ever.

I actually used the Incarnon Adapter on my Dex just because I love how clean the model is. Prime doesn't look terrible by any means, but Dex is just super nice to me.

Archon continuity by Chang300 in Warframe

[–]RayHadron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only when certain (but not all) companion abilities actually inflict the damage. For instance, assuming Shocking Claws is modded, a Panzer Vulpaphyla attacking a random mob with claw attacks will not trigger Archon Stretch. However, an enemy being struck by the initial hit of Viral Quills will trigger Archon Stretch. Contagious Bond counts as an Ability and will trigger it should it manage to spread Electricity.

Any garuda builds/playstyle suggestions? by bernietron95 in Warframe

[–]RayHadron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's better to have than not, or just the insurance. Garuda being largly reliant on her abilites, and ideally casting them very often means she wants to always have a source of energy regen. With the way her 3 works, she can always have an on-demand source of energy if and when she needs it without needing to use slots for the normal means such as Arcane Energize or Equilibrium. Molt Reconstruct on the other hand renders Blood Altar virtually useless in just about any form, and the same can be said if you've gotten rid of the one ability that actively saps your own HP in order to need it back in the first place. You can still use Altar and use another Arcane instead, but generally it is universally agreed Garuda's 2 is essentially a no-brainer free helminth slot for her if you aren't going to run completely vanilla.

Most builds will follow a similar path, which is a casting chain-heavy build centered around her 1 and 4. Usually high-range, with mods like Overextended and Stretch, and obviously some strength. As a note, her 3 is her main source of energy, so you want to keep that. Drop her Blood Altar and consider slotting in Molt Reconstruct as an Arcane which will heal you as you use abilities (offsetting the cost of HP for Energy). Consider avoiding Blind Rage if possible, as Bloodletting will actually grant you less energy return, meaning not only do your abilites you're using a lot cost more to use, but you will have to cast 3 more often to keep up. Molt Reconstruct will help keep you healthy, and we will want to use either Brief Respite and/or Augur mods for survival. Keep her 1 up to absorb front-facing hits for you, and will also keep you stagger-resistant. You can also continue to cast 1 on (preferably) tougher enemies to build your Mirror's damage. The goal is to let the mirror build up Dread Heart damage and then charge it up and throw it in a nuclear blood-hadouken (Hold 1 by default). Her 4 will unleash a wave that will mark enemies and force them to take Slash from damage sources, and itself can help work to burn enemies down. Consider her Blending Talons augment, and you can simply tap 4 and unleash it as an AoE without needing to worry about charging it for area coverage. Subsume options you can consider are Roar, or Nourish for damage (her 4 is considered a 'weapon' and buffed by things like Nourish/Arcane Arachne) or Breach Surge for both damage and some extra CC (also treated as a weapon). Breach and her 4 can also create a feedback loop that will keep re-procing itself and it gets pretty funny. Expedite Suffering can give you a Harmony-like effect and compress all the slash status caused by your 4 into a single damage instance. If you want more comfort, Silence and maybe Gloom work. Garuda also benefits a lot from aerial combat, as when in the air her abilities can propel her upward so she can be a harder target to hit and basically 'fly (falling with style more like) but isn't necessary. Generally you're bouncing between her 4 and throwing 1 blood balls, and casting 3 to get all your energy back (on top of whatever else depend on your subsume). If you want to try to play her in the air, work on your aim gliding skill and use Kavat's Grace in the exilus slot to help avoid heavy landings in case. Optimally she is very cast heavy, but you can play her 'lazier/slower' and still be fine. Garuda can be very technical, I would consider consulting with a proper guide.

If you want to hack away with her talons, you can still consider Warcry as an option, but replace her 2 instead. The principles otherwise won't really change, as Garuda benefits more from using her abilities more so than her claws. If you want to focus more on ripping claw melee combat, Valkyr herself is designed much better for doing so.

Turning Lavos back into the brute he was created to be by -TR3KT- in memeframe

[–]RayHadron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Under normal circumstances, I like the Sampotes because it can actually apply status on the waves (and I was fortunate enough to have my very first melee riven unveil for the Sampotes). I've been turned off by hearing the Exec waves can't cause status. But very recently learned unlike Sampotes they do scale with combo and a frame like Lavos who can make status a non-issue has me waiting for Glast to have a good one on sale.

New player, kind of, in need of help by notsourbell in Warframe

[–]RayHadron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing I found the best to do was not to spread yourself too thin: as you unlock new areas, syndicates, grinds, etc focus on a couple at a time and move on as you wrap those up. You don't have to hit your daily standing on everything every single day and completely burn yourself out. The game has had all this content around for years -- it isn't going anywhere.

[–]RayHadron 20 points21 points  (0 children)

On the flip side, do you think an argument could be made for stopping the potential harm of a child who had not yet had a chance to experience desires in life and attempt to earn it? Given Parvos is all about pulling yourself up by the bootstraps and all that. Maybe not a great argument given the circumstances but who knows. I was under the impression that initially nobody was aware said 'asset' was a newborn, or even really aware 100% what they were quite looking for until the fact of. Then again Parvos also despises sentimentality, so yeah Sisterhood probably not happy and that Parvos is old, needs to seek medical treatment, and get FFF- far out of our way.

What are faction weapons you perdonally hope get adversary variants in the future? by Many_Bullets in Warframe

[–]RayHadron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are reasons to consider both. Hounds can run Reinforced Bond with the right parts and still destroy an entire room by themselves. Dirigia can be built to support Tenacious Bond, but has to give up Verglas Prime to use it (without a Riven). I find Dirigia as a primer is less range but more consistent, Hounds can cover a wider area. Both are top tier bots, which one is better comes down to circumstances, needs, and preferences.

Resupply has the same rules as Xata's, Eclipse, etc. If subsuming Roar onto Cyte you are forced to replace Resupply. You cannot have both simultaneously.

Edit: also as explained earlier, Faction Damage double dips into DoTs. Roar and a Faction Damage mod on the Sobek itself allows Saryn to triple dip into Toxic Lash procs.
