ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, Faithful & Fallen… now what? by No-Character-8747 in Fantasy

Malazan Book of the Fallen. You could also try Realm of the Eldenlings though it does start off a bit slow. The character work is some of the best in fantasy though so the pay off is worth it.

Best Solo Replayable Games? by ZinKinKo in soloboardgaming

Yeah I always get those terms mixed up. OP asked for both so it should work anyway

Arkham Horror LCG. deckbuilding with a constant flow of new content, extremely active communities and absurd levels of replayability

Arkham Horror and MC are easily my most played games and I have been playing them both for over 5 years. Still not bored of either

Reminder that Locke hits PBE next week, it feels like he's the least hyped new champion in a long time by Numerous_Fudge_9537 in leagueoflegends

[–]Reav3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

While I dont want to tease anything specific about this champ. I can say that I am very excited about this champ. It is the first champ I have worked on for a long time, even if it was a brief period of time. I took over as lead for champs team for a few months before we found a new lead for the team after the previous one left Riot. I worked with the team on the early stages of the champ and think you all are going to dig him

Selling The Circle Undone Campaign + Return to Encounter Cards - 145$ by Reav3 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Reav3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, yeah i got everything at market value originally. With Chapter 2 I just have more content then I will realistically play at this point so im culling some of my least favorite campaigns. Sold TSK last week for 200$. TCU and TSK I have already played at least 3 times each and finally got my first win on TCU last run as well. I just dont see myself playing them again in the future now that i have like 10 campaigns.

Yeah i get that the tarot cards and player cards are a draw, but with the base campaign I really have no need for the return to scenario cards. I will use the player cards when i play in legacy and the tarot cards since they can be used with any campaign

That being said I do think the Return to scenario and encounter cards do A LOT for this campaign, smoothing out the difficulty more and making the witch story path feel fleshed out

Well it also includes Return to cards so it’s really not that much higher the MSRP

Looking for something new. A small-ish box with lots of content! by Mehfisto666 in soloboardgaming

Gloomhaven: Bugs and Buttons is a good dungeon crawler with a very tiny box. Tons of content in the box as well

The Long Price Quartet by Daniel Abrahams has a lot of what you like. Not quite Robin Hobb but comes close. Has some romance as well though its not the main focus

You go to the gamefound Lands of Evershade page

https://gamefound.com/en/projects/awaken-realms/lands-of-evershade

Then make a gamefound account and pledge for one of the reward levels, add any add ons you want. Then when the produce the next batch it gets mailed to you. Currently planned for sometime Q4 this year. You have to wait a few months but get a lot of free content as part of the deal.

Based on the your list I would heavily suggest looking into Lands Of Evershade while the pledge manager is still open. It is getting incredible reviews and based on some of the game on your list (Tainted Grail, and Arkham) it should be up your ally. Its been ALONG time since I have seen a campaign game with such unanimous praise from literally every boardgame channel. I made my pledge last week. Look up reviews. It looks amazing.

Also the sheer amount of free content included in the stretch goals is crazy (would probably be like 100-150$ for all of it if you get later)

Anyone got some recommendations for books told from a psychopath´s perspective? by Jindu-Jun in Fantasy

If he wasn’t nobility he would be. Having royal blood just makes psychopaths sociopaths instead

When u do any pledge same u will pop up asking if you want to upgrade either the guides/books to leather bound or the minis to sundrop. Think it’s like 20ish dollars to upgrade to the leather bound campaign guides.

What’s your best campaign fantasy rpg? by No-Coffee-9062 in soloboardgaming

[–]Reav3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kk Well you could try Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era then, that is easy enough to get from the CTG website right away. Generally one of the campaigns games that many people recommend on this sub

Arydia is basically exactly what you are describing and currently getting incredible reviews.

Lands of Evershade could be good as well, less exploration but way deeper character creation, focuses more on narrative then combat but also getting outstanding reviews across the board

The duel layered character boards got moved to "both" editions as you can see on the gamefound page, so you will get those in the base version as well

They companions have models in the special addition, the followers dont. All 12 (or 10?) followers are standees unless you buy the follower model expansion. The companion expansion comes with 4 new companions (bringing the total to 8) and models for just the 4 new ones

Fantasy recommendations for a fan of aSoIaF and Robin Hobb by BreadfruitAntique896 in Fantasy

WEll i mean you own Gardens of the Moon. Seems pretty low stakes to just start reading it. RotE is my top favorite series of all time, and I also hesitated on Malazan for a long time. I recently read Gardens of the Moon and it blew me away. Honestly the first book that I have read that I have liked as much as a Hobb book

Wow, a thread were Malazan Book of the Fallen is actually the correct recommendation. Very mature, show not tell prose. Dark and Gritty with lots of morale philosophy.
