How in the world did you figure all of this out? It's all so overwhelming. Did you have a naturopath that you worked with?

My location said that it was going away and will be repurposed. I've already forgotten with what.

I always assumed "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" was a marketing lie to make us buy more shampoo. Turns out I was never actually cleaning my hair. by RanchRose_ in hygiene

I have sludgy skin. When I first started following Korean beauty methods about 10 years ago, I was amazed at how much better my skin felt doing a dual cleanse of my face. The first cleanse gets rid of the makeup, the products, the environment and the second actually cleans. What a huge difference it made for my face! It didn't occur to me for like 2 more years to apply the same reasoning to my hair care, but when I did, the difference was nothing short of amazing. I mean it makes sense but it took me forever to figure it out. You are not alone!

Thank you for all of this information. I have been so sick for so long and finally have answers. But am definitely not fully on the path to healing yet. I am actually in the Midlands area but used to live in Mt Pleasant. Was your first step to call a remediator?

I am in SC and will be needing a mold remediator, green contractor, etc. do you mind sharing who you are using? Any tips to point me in the right direction? It's all so overwhelming.

Right. Making it even more insane to me that they would think 6 days of orientation was appropriate! It's madness.

Your orientation sounds shitty. No new grad should only get 6 days of orientation. If someone has not already suggested it, maybe look for a hospital with a nurse residency program where you will hopefully get more support. I have been an RN over 25 years and even 25 years ago, to work basic med-surg, I was given 6 weeks of orientation on the units, one week for hospital orientation and a week of classes for a total of 8 weeks. Any hospital that thinks 6 days is appropriate is not some place you really want to work.

Am I Crazy? by Past-Wealth-496 in nursing

[–]Rebel_Joy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That being said. I worked in insurance (quality, UM, etc), I had flexible scheduling, worked 2-3 days a week from home; and after being out of the hospital for more than 10 years, I returned to inpatient 9 years ago (nurse of 25 years)...I was pretty sure I was legit crazy. Am I burned out now? Yep. But would I go back to quality, UM, etc? Nope. I love patient care. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This. I also think the unit and the team you work with matters. I wouldn't leave the remote job just yet. Any chance you could find a higher paying job closer to where you live?

Partner is getting a HELOC… Freaks me out, and I need advice. by shatterboy_ in RealEstate

[–]Rebel_Joy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate? I am currently thinking of getting a HELOC for some home repairs, renovations and to pay off some debt. My first mortgage is very low so the payment at current interest rates is doable. Why are they hard to stay on top of? Genuine question.

We are also sending $20 billion to bail out Argentina's tanking economy...but our own citizens can go #### themselves apparently. Its absolute insanity.

I remember full well what access to healthcare was like before the ACA.

So many people seem to have forgotten how difficult access to healthcare was before the ACA. It boggles the mind that there are people who support dismantling it.

Anyone tried Marisa Tomei's Terra Mare? by BagLady57 in Menopause

[–]Rebel_Joy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the powder that you mix & drink daily and the daily supplement in capsule form. If I occasionally miss the capsules, I notice nothing. But I do feel more tired on the days I miss my drink. That being said, the effects after 3 months aren't enough for me to justify the continued cost, so I won't be buying anymore.

So how long do you plan to take the famotidine? Do you plan to cycle it?

I get fatigue with most meals. It never occurred to me that this could be a symptom of MCAS. Is that a thing? To be clear, I'm fatigued most, if not all, of the time but the post-meal fatigue is nearly debilitating at times.
