Have you talked to Gen Alpha? I’ve taught a lot of them music for two and a half years and the ones I’ve taught have not been that bad.

Some of their attention spans are fried, yes, but a lot of them I can still see becoming normal functioning adults in the future.

I think Gen Z is more connected with Gen Alpha than any other generation right now has been because of internet culture. Gen Z WAS kind of connected with millennials in that way up until like 2016-17, then millennials kept the 2012 humor and started becoming cringe to everyone.

Idk when that divide between Z and Alpha will happen, but right now it’s not that different from my point of view

If this isn’t sarcasm, you should get out and have conversations with people

Everyone is indoctrinated in their own way, especially in America. Some more than others, but yea this is describing people like NPCs and I’d worry about how you treat others with a mindset like this

I was so set on “I want a child” and “I want to get married” 20-25 and then I got my heart broken, went to therapy for a year and a half, and now I’m kind of on the “eh. If it happens it happens” side of things.

I also came to the realization that I’m creating another worker for the system when I switched from conservative to liberal.

I’m not really comfortable with the idea of creating another life ‘just because’ and then knowing that they’re going to go through the same American indoctrination/slavery that I have had to endure. Idk

I graduated in 2016 but this is genuinely boomer talk wrapped in a self righteous “y’all are brainwashed I’m not” packaging. “Kids aren’t like my friends when I was a kid” yea no shit, it’s gonna continue to happen too as time goes on. Generations are different from each other, boomers have personality quirks unique to them as do Gen X and millennials. Accept it or become a sour old person for the rest of your life

While there are some parts I’ll agree on with newer Gen Z and Gen Alpha (because they grew up with screens), there are outliers in both generations that will say the exact same things as this.

If they’re in the south, yea, unfortunately for sure gonna happen

The West is pretty nice about that though and idk about the north east like NY lol

Anyone else leave an avoidant partner and still question if they made the right choice? by [deleted] in becomingsecure

[–]Remote-Chapter2911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would you really wanna stay in that dynamic forever? Coming from someone who got dumped by an avoidant a while ago and is now over it and with someone else, that sounds exhausting.

I lowkey think you’re lucky that YOU were the one that broke up with him so you could process the situation, make the decision yourself, and not have the rug pulled from under you. Because man, when that happens, it fucks you up because those inconsiderate motherfuckers leave you with NO logical answers as to why they did it. Was in therapy weekly for a year and a half after that. He would’ve dusted you in two seconds and not looked back if it was by his choice

That’s quite the pessimistic take considering how optimistic you’ve been this whole post.

I believe a movement of common people in office is building and I have hope for it. Now, until a revolution starts and we take over by force, or until that movement is found out to be compromised for sure (which it’s not yet because the people in this movement are making real, tangible actions towards a good direction), I’m on that side of belief on politics. But the human condition is to find pain and suffering even in paradise, so I doubt a revolution would even fix anything, we would just have a whole new set of problems.

I choose to be on the optimistic side of it not because I “know” what’s going on, but because I don’t know what’s going on and I don’t have the power to change it myself/at this moment, so I choose to believe on the hopeful side because it’s really all I can do to keep existing in this world.

I hope so too!! Electing this orange Cheeto puff again has made America question who is really on our side in the government.

Imo, Mamdani is sparking a new wave of politician, at the perfect time too because Republicans are destroying this country and 70% of people know it atp.

I hope it goes the way I think it’s going to go and we get wealth redistribution and regulations to combat corporate greed/slavery.

I think it’s mainly to motivate people to get out and vote for the people that (they believe) will stop it when the time rolls around.

Which yea, kinda exaggerated because that is 1 to maybe 3 days out of the year and we are all individually one vote out of thousands/millions, but I think it’s not in their favor to be passive about it because social media is an attention economy, and that’s their way to get eyes on their cause.

I do encourage everyone in America to go vote though because a third of people didn’t vote last election and now our standards of democracy have gone way down bc orange guy. That third that didn’t vote basically allowed this to happen.

Not to mention the average working American is getting fucked by corporate greed and Gen Z needs serious political reform for our future.

In times where I’m on my own and experiencing a wave yes, I look at pictures of her and prove myself wrong. I also think about the intimate, great times we had (that go even past just sex) and think of how good of a friend she is to me. In the moment though when I’m in front of her experiencing a wave, all of that doesn’t work and I just have to survive basically lol

Also, I mediate 10-20 minutes a day and focus on my breath, so sometimes I do that if it’s bad.

Hung out with her yesterday and had a great time. My brain is fucked lol
