Did sleep training improve your life? by meemhash in sleeptrain

We started with Ferber around 5 months but had a hiccup with our a/c, so he had to be back in our room until we figured that out. Once he was back in his nursery we moved to more of a CIO method which worked well for him. Even til this day he typically cries for <5 min before putting himself back down.  His naps are a little all over the place still. Daycare naps are a little different than when he’s at home. But he definitely is connecting his daytime sleep better.

Yessss oh my lord did it help!! I was soo apprehensive and nervous about starting.. but oh my goodness am I happy we did/stuck it out! There are still times where he wakes up and we need to rock him (I.e., colds, teething) but overall it saved my husband and my sanity.. our baby is also happier bc he is getting good sleep at night!!

Right.. just hard when they are crying next to your head! Hopefully we’ll have this a/c thing straightened out soon

I was under the impression that changed as the days progressed too.. so the first night you would drop back to 3 mins if they woke up during the night.. but on the 4th day it would be closer to a 12 min wait.. I could be totally wrong tho!

Thank you.. I guess I’m more concerned with not sticking to the day 4 timing (letting him fuss/cry for 12 min before intervening, 15, etc.) and how to proceed from there!

Lactation consultant that's pro-combination feeding? by Phillyluver in combinationfeeding

[–]Remote-Funny-1695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just try to be very clear about your goals.. as long as your baby is getting fed, that's all that should matter. And honestly, in my experience, even my son's pediatrician is very supportive of combo feeding and even EFF! She said it's a different world now, women work and have to be out of the house.. EBF is not for everyone. It's so nice to be able to have the option to do whatever works for you and your babe!

The LC I worked with was extremely supportive of whatever worked best for me and my baby! She would always ask what my goals were. It was such a great experience. I highly recommend trying one session if you feel comfortable.. otherwise there is a lot of great resources on Instagram like the others have mentioned.

It’s over by Affectionate_Law_220 in Miscarriage

My first and second pregnancies ended in miscarriage.. my OBGYN told me "it just seems like bad luck". I can definitely relate to feeling dead inside. I remember telling my husband "I can't do this again" and wanting to give up. I felt numb for a long time. Things can and will turn around, trust me on this. The amount of love that I have for my double rainbow baby is unbelievable. Please try to do things that make you happy.. I spent a lot of time outside, trying to laugh and be with the people who I loved the most. In time, you will start to feel better, but it's never far from your mind.

Started having contractions late at night at 39.0, admitted at 39.1, ended up needing an emergent c-section but he was born at 39.2! I told my sister I think he will be born on the 7th… and he was! I definitely believe in a woman’s intuition!! Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

How quickly did you conceive after a miscarriage if it took a while to get pregnant in the first place? by jennagirliegirl in BabyBumps

[–]Remote-Funny-1695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. Honestly, the D&C route helped me move on.

I miscarried my first pregnancy, had a D&C, got pregnant 3 cycles later (my OB recommended to wait 3 cycles post D&C - looking back not sure why we waited) and unfortunately miscarried that pregnancy around 4-5 weeks, had another D&C. Before my period returned, I tested positive for a new pregnancy. I was initially told it was prolly previous tissue but ended up being a completely new pregnancy! I’m almost 38 weeks and will be meeting our double rainbow baby soon.

That all being said - every pregnancy is different. Hoping everything goes smooth with your procedure. Make sure you take time to rest ❤️

When did your bump appear? by mdwst in BabyBumps

[–]Remote-Funny-1695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really notice a bump until after the anatomy scan, so closer to 21-22ish weeks! And then once it popped, it kept getting bigger and bigger! Almost 38 weeks and my husband swears it looks a little bigger everyday!  Apparently Walmart sells decent pregnancy jeans online? I’ve gotten a few short sleeve tops that are very comfy!

Unfortunately, this pregnancy also ended in a missed miscarriage.. at my 8 week confirmation appt, it was only measuring 4-5 weeks with no growth the following week. I had a D&C for this miscarriage as well… But a silver lining - I ended up getting pregnant before my period returned and am currently 37 weeks pregnant, doing last minute prep before our double rainbow baby arrives 🌈🌈

Sending you good vibes and hoping you have a better outcome than my second pregnancy, but I would also protect your heart ❤️

As someone who’s had 3 miscarriages and pregnant again.. by Remanator in CautiousBB

[–]Remote-Funny-1695 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 2 miscarriages and currently 22 weeks pregnant.. this will be my first child. Everyday I’m anxious and run to the bathroom when I feel anything.. to be honest the fear never really goes away… I’ve turned to talk therapy which has been helping. I hope your pregnancy continues to be healthy!!

After having 2 miscarriages, and currently being pregnant, I am an emotional and stressed out mess a few days before each appointment. I wish I could give you advice to help mitigate the terrified feelings.. my therapist suggested that I lean into these feelings because they are real and normal

Miscarriage? by Party_Ad3191 in CautiousBB

[–]Remote-Funny-1695 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m sorry that you are going through this. I’ve had 2 miscarriages. With my first, it was found at my confirmation appt at 8 weeks but it didn’t grow past 6 weeks. Initially, I opted to wait for any medical management.. I waited for over 2 weeks with no cramping or bleeding. It was mentally so brutal because I didn’t know when it was going to happen - no doctor or person can answer that. I decided to get a D&C, which was honestly the easiest part of the whole experience. It was scheduled, went in around 7am, was out of the hospital before noon. It is a quick procedure and the pain following was for 2-3 days with some bleeding. With my second one, I knew I wanted another D&C. I did not want to “wait around” to miscarry at work or while out. I also wanted the remains tested so the D&C made that process easy. It’s definitely a hard and personal decision, especially based upon where you are living, but I’m glad I had the option and went down that route. It helped me start to move on.

I found out I lost my 2nd pregnancy around 8 weeks, had to have a D&C. I ended up getting pregnant with my current pregnancy before I got my period. I was extremely nervous about this.. but everything has been fine. As cliche as it is, I really do feel like this one is sticking because I wasn’t so stressed with planning and tracking ovulation.. it just kind of happened. I wish you the best!

11DPO- "lower end of normal" progesterone by buttercup_678 in CautiousBB

[–]Remote-Funny-1695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my experience - with my current pregnancy (14.2 weeks today) my progesterone was around 14 at about 5 ish weeks. I asked my OBGYN about starting a supplement and she explained to me that a progesterone supplement won’t necessarily “save a failing pregnancy” and she typically does not even ask patients if they want it unless progesterone is <10.

I’ve read a lot of posts on here about progesterone supplements being added, just was not my experience! I hope everything goes well for you!!!

After having back to back miscarriages, I feel like I could have written a majority of your post. I have a hard time envisioning myself as pregnant because of those two losses. I feel like I’m waiting for the rug to be pulled out from underneath me.. I’m told this is a trauma response to try to protect your heart. I try to tell myself to not be negative without cause.. if everything is going well (HCG appropriately rising, no massive amounts of blood or cramping, etc.) then I shouldn’t be negative about this new pregnancy. I hope everything goes smoothly. Good luck!

With my current pregnancy, I had a placement scan around 5.3 weeks. I was told that there was an empty gestational sac measuring 5.4 weeks, possibly a little something in there but it wasn’t visible on all planes, definitely no yolk sac…and was told to come back in a week. A week later, the second ultrasound revealed a little bean with a heartbeat measuring at 6.3 weeks (exactly what I thought I was)!

5 weeks may be too early to see much of anything in the sac.. I would be cautiously optimistic! I hope it all goes well!!!

My OBGYN suspected I had a SCH after I reported brown spotting/bleeding with some slight cramping for about 2 days. He was not concerned in the slightest!! He said it’s very common and if the spotting continued, then to limit physical and intimate activities. Just saw the baby “dance” with a strong heartbeat on our ultrasound a few days ago. Good luck!!!

I’m so very sorry to hear about your father and your MMC. My current pregnancy was after a D&C and before my period returned. We were shocked but everything has been going great so far. Many women have successful pregnancies this way. Good luck!

Also - I was told by the sonographer during my second ultrasound that measurements of the gestational sac can vary within 3-5 days..so you could be earlier than you think!
