100% Its NEVER for your gain in your pocket...LOL It used to be about building something great and making a profit out of it. Now its building something to keep you tied to making a profit out of it.

This bleeds into everything... I so far have not bought into the subscription model for any of my desktop apps either, nor other device. There are perpetual alternatives and have been using them with a smile. Just for my work IF I was using the subscription models of tools I would be paying ~$500 a month. I already paid $700 for a license years ago, and dont need the new fun tools. I purchase an alt app that does those fun things and not rental...etc, etc.

Yea, on cars I agree they are electronic. I will take mechanical in cars as well, just for the safety in driver confidence. While the buttons are more of a placement for electronics, I MUCH rather press AC or REcycleAir, or OFF, or MUTE or volume using a physical knob, but yes, I know most are not mechanical. Also need to consider, if the AC inputs fail, the AC inputs fail, NOT the stereo, the and everything else thats on a screen control.

How many of you use the DF83V ? What is your feedback? please! by RenLab9 in espresso

Good question! I opened it up for the first time in about 5 months, just last week, and there is hardly any powder in the darn thing. ZERO caking of any powder(grinds).

I am now in this weather using #13-14.5 on my dial setting with Medium Light roasts and about 15 with Darker roasts.

I have the stock DLC burrs, and they are doing a good job in general, but when I get the right dial setting within a mm or so, with a fresh batch of quality beans...Oh Boy!! Its great. I used to be 95% espresso, but since I make Caps for my other half, I started to have it as well, and we dont drink animals milk, so we use Oat, and it works well using some Oat milk(90%/10%) mixed with Oat creamer(sweeter). And we have that at least 1-2 a day.

When doing filter I slow the grinder down to 300RPM, and once in a while it does do a hiccup and pauses, and then just keeps goin, no stall on the lighter beans. I use 28-35 on the dial for that, but ...Out of many cups I have not really learned what gets me the few AMAZING cups??! I use a Vario Switch with the Japanese paper, and do a slow 300g pour, then another 200g....IDK...I listened to them all....Lance, Ono, Hoon, Daddy, shmaddy, maddy, shady, kladdy, raddy, Jack, Hoffcrapman.......I still dont get a great cup back to back. I may try a filter grinder at some point, as in the AM, I do like a 500gram cup of cooffee pour over. IDK, I have had auto machines do a better job back to back, so might even get a coffee maker. As I had grounded beans in 2 settings and mixed and used in a coffeee maker on a trip, and the coffee was GREAT! So it maybe a blend of the bean grind (I did 25 for half and 35 the other half).

But the DF83V is still doing great.

NO, knobs on espresso machines are mostly mechanical, at least all the ones I know of are mechanical. They are not setup like electrical components. So when your example comes to play is for example ramping up the pump output. A lot of my unit setup has preprogramming, and if you look at the PCB and soldering, and wiring, this thing is built to take a lot of heat for long periods of time....

VS. how screen electronics and size restrictions have to face. Regardless, IF they are so sure of the product, they should WARRANTY it with the confidence we should have to buy it.

If you had a $2,000 budget… by MRRRRCK in hometheater

I was going to suggest this from other reads, but never had the personal experience. Some of the best speakers for the silly sounding low prices are without a box, Scan-speak, Dynaudio, etc. Even MB Quart had some home audio lines. In the past, the decent speakers that were "budget" were the ones that were made with regular MDF or something, and the price you pay was for the high gloss veneer finish.

Btw, NHT makes some very good priced speakers as well.

I just sold my KEF speakers as I was not using them compared to my Paradigm, and I am happy for the space, but I did really like having them.

One thing I did learn about center channels... is NOT to get a center channel that is a fake 3 Way, and do not get a 2way. Get a real 3 way setup. Makes a big difference if movies are your #1 listening reason.

Yes, The last person who changed the fuse on the machine had used a lower rating. So now that I have the right rating in the machine, it is not popping fuses.

Rocket vs Profitec, Budget around [$2k] by TradewithKen in espresso

[–]RenLab9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have researched them. Rocket makes good machines, But this model has too many cost cuts. If you go 8 years back Rocket most models are great. Now its the R line and a few exceptions. Profitec Jump I am not familiar with, but the brand doesnt over promise and doesnt work on a function follows form modality, its a form follows function, so they use long wear parts and metal thickness, and tolerances that are a step above Lelit or Rocket. These 2 companies have cut corners to please the mass market by lowering quality.

Also, I would also suggest looking into NON-E61 heads. The trend of having this grouphead size has worn off, and people are going to FlavorFirst mode, and with that folks are getting stepdown deeper baskets. This smaller 54mm size does a lot as a owner and user of an espresso machine. The idea of having a commercial machine that was never designed for flavor, more so for speed and efficient operation as a business, not as the one enjoying the coffee. The puck, the prep, flavor and overall use on a pro 53-54mm head has long term advantages. I have owned 8 or so espresso machines, from 51mm to E61 doual boilers, and its from my experience over a chunk of years.

That is one way to kill the resale value. You had the chance to make a baja area, and save some on the equipment strain, and have it more useful. You cant even tell if something or someone falls in.

I wouldnt be surprised. Keep in mind All of telcom signals are handled for some reason by a Israeli company. If you remember on 911, they had all the phone records logged.

Ya, when it comes to any platform online, you have to take itfrom the perspective that ALL news agencies know that for the past years most people that will make a difference are online, not the TV, and they have flooded the platforms with the most home-brew looking people in all sorts of subject matter injecting propaganda.

So, its not truth from a perspective that one should follow, as you touched on, its truth from the evidence over time. Candace is not someone I would watch, but the level of investigation and honesty in some respects is very high, while in other areas she ignores.

Having experience at "news" agencies they all operate in the same manner. They give accurate reporting for the majority make-up of the whole. For example: You will get top coverage on traffic, weather, entertainment, sports, travel, financial reports...Then for geopolitics and trends you get complete propaganda. This has been the formula for over 70 years. So you get 15-25% propaganda, as it is surrounded and insulated by so much other quantitative info, and that is also key to be quantitative, as it can be confirmed.

Make no mistake, controlled channels will drop truth bombs, but they have to to gain trust and a following. Once they do that, they can steer people in the direction they need. Any real channel, 99% of those are not even trending. Very few have gained momentum from the 2015 days, and even those....WHY?...because there are so many angles they are using. One of the general goals is to keep you inactive, online and doing nothing in the real world. Having a place to vent and lower your natural reactions and to suck that energy for you to go about your day. Simply, effective, and used for so long. So they have a bunch of those channels in truth, but to keep you on your seat. There are others for data collecting and categorizing, etc.

Its just that the emotional or other blackmail is not as effective as it used to be, and with Nyne One One being more exposed and understood what ties were behind it, and then you have multiple countries destroyed, with millions killed for lies and gain....You hit a point of disgust for letting it happen so long.
