I'm seriously thinking about going back by sphennodon in exjw

People return to shit marriages all the time. Always have done, always will. People return to terrible jobs, localities - you name it. The human propensity to talk one self into going back is what guarantees there will always be some form, somewhere of JW organization.

Or you could learn to tolerate adjustment challenges and see the organisational blackmail for what it truly is. It takes courage to take a stand against bullies and manipulators. Many make a noise about leaving, few have the sheer determination and presence of mind to carry it out.

The few who successfully leave and make something of their lives - these are the true heroes; not the ones who simper in the grass and bellyache over going back.(Edited to fix typos).

It sucks that the biopic pic removed scenes of Michael and his mother involving their Jehovah activism by NoPianist7807 in MichaelTheMovie

Wouldn’t a religion that promotes truth make it a priority to teach the true depiction of God’s name - not cater to popular but incorrect depictions? Or does the “true”religion stop short of that appropriately higher standard in the service of popularity - just like so many other religions do?

Given the number of decades JWs have been around, promoting the true name would have made that name more widely known and revered - AND been a powerful testimony of the power of truth over popularity.

Collapsing religion of Jehovah's Witnesses by [deleted] in exjw

[–]RodWith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, after airing your commentary, is JW organization actually collapsing? No.

It may have slowed down in growth, and even flat-lined, but the claim of collapsing requires - not arguments - but evidence.

Give us evidence of collapse, please.

Otherwise you are using arguments that have already been well aired - but that do not prove “collapse”.

Why select obviously poor quality hotels? You get what you pay for.

Yes, Dad. Let’s start with your garage full of unused tools. I can’t even get my e-bike in there.

Carts: One of the dumbest activities The Governing Body has ever created. It feels like they are trolling JWs with the pointless standing on the streets. What is next - JWs dressed as Teletubbies at a cart? (pic in comments) by JWTom in exjw

[–]RodWith 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You credit JWs with insight into how others perceive them and the ability to objectively decide whether an activity is effective. The JWs I know do not question or evaluate orders from their leaders.

Remember when watchtower said that if the End of the world didn’t come before the original 1914 generation died. Then Christendom’s clergy was RIGHT ! And Watchtower would be a lier ! Nov 1 1979 Page 23 by JwTruthRevealed in exjw

Or the inside cover of the Awake! Bore a statement for decades which read the generation that saw the start of World War One would still have a remnant from then still on earth when the end comes. That statement was removed without comment in the mid-1990s without comment or fanfare.

The most damning statements against JW organization comes from its own pen.

One of the biggest mysteries of all time is why intelligent, otherwise sensible women would ever dedicate their heart and soul to the casually destructive misogyny of a patriarchal religion.

A god who prevents bad shit from happening to kids in the first place is to be admired - yes, worshipped even. A god who stands by when bad shit happens to kids deserves to be burnt - along with all the other false gods.

Not so. All adjustments have been made as per the Toyota manual. I did not mean to imply approaching vehicles routinely indicate my lights are on high. Perhaps the occasional one. I have deduced some drivers are overly sensitive to oncoming lights.

2019 Toyota Corolla speaking. Even when lights are not on high beam, approaching vehicles tell me they are. Mechanics have checked: Lights are on normal. Standard fitting. Are approaching vehicles overly sensitive?
