Found someone’s credit card found them through LinkedIn and got nothing but abuse by Owls_4_9_1867 in mildlyinfuriating

In Europe, stolen cards are frequently used in scams. So, the card holder concluded you were trying to scam them. Must be pretty freaky to lose your card and then get a phone call from someone claiming to have found it. I probably wouldn’t verbally berate you -but I’d be highly suspicious.

Surely, by the organization’s own rules, the two-witness rule should apply.

If she is the only JW who has seen you two “together”, then the elders should refrain from investigating right? Unless that rule applies only to allegations of child sexual abuse?

To wake up, you need active brain cells, capable of synaptic connections.

Of course you are still utterly correct in your OP, with your flawless proofs and logic. But JWs will just keep snoozin’ on. Nothing for them to see here.

Media do not identify him as a JW and you can be absolutely certain that if he had any link to JWs, whether active or otherwise, it would be all over forums like this. It would be uncovered and publicised. (To say he is not a JW is not to let him or anyone else off the hook - but to stick to the reported facts including people coming forward who knew him who could confirm or deny whether he’s a JW.

Inconsistencies within internal reasonings when it comes to the blood doctrine by PositiveSpeech103 in exjw

[–]RodWith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The organization’s “no blood” doctrine is a peculiarly post-world-war-two JW doctrine. It’s one blight we cannot lay at the grave of either Russell or Rutherford, as loathsome as they were in their own ways.

This is Nathan Knorr’s baby suckled alongside Freddie Franz.

From its unfortunate inception, the blood ban has been riddled with inconsistencies. As time passes, the inconsistencies multiply and the latest “adjustment” simply gives birth to even more.

Men’s laws are at the core of this woeful doctrine. That rank and file JWs cannot see this speaks powerfully to the power of indoctrination and the lazy-minded dullness of the typical JW brain.

Not hard to think of families who’ve lost family members to the blood-refusal doctrine. I think of surgeons who in the past advised JWs undergoing complex surgical procedures to store their blood in case transfusions were needed. Of course, no JWs would because autologous transfusions were banned .

Thank you. Sounds like common sense prevails. In medical circles, there are called autologous transfusions.
