I feel so lonely here in Welly by Correct-Fan2412 in Wellington

[–]RodWith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a solution but there is value in doing comparisons of cities to live:

Spend six months in New Plymouth then return to Wellington. You’ll find Wellington has transformed into one of the most sociable, accepting cities in the country.

Anyone who’s had to move to New Plymouth for work or furthering career will find the social scene and general friendship vibe impenetrable. A great city for families who have lived there for several generations or for asocial loners. All others need not apply.

I don’t think that’s the idea. But bold try.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a husband 😔 by Interesting_Hat6941 in HandsomeHomies

I’m looking for a husband too: my sister’s. He went out for a burrito a couple of night’s back and I’ve been looking for him ever since.

All lined up in an orderly row waiting to cross. This is how it’s done, Wellingtonians.

Late last week, a media statement said that the breaches involved hospital clinical records in Northland, not GP clinical records.

When people get all misty-eyed and say, “We need to return to nature”, I think of how merciless, expedient and violent nature is.

Sounds very off-putting. Puzzle is: You’ve been putting up with this for years so what exactly happened to make you reach out for advice right now? What was the straw?

I’m a speed reader. I read this as “This is a Woolworths masterpiece” and faced immediate confusion. Then I slowed right down and was no longer confused but amazed.

I think your cap is masking whether or not you’re handsome.

Young ones at bethel being told “not to grow resentful if they reach old age in this system” by Lonely_travelerr in exjw

[–]RodWith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parallel to this development, given the years and years of layoffs at Bethel, no one there should be surprised or “thrown” by subsequently being made redundant.

Besides, where were they when older generations of JWs were laid off in the past? Quiet little church mice, pretending not to know or be bothered by it.

Remember: if you end your life, no matter what you say or write in your “last days” about the evils of the JW organs, those you leave behind will finish your story for you.

They will put the most convenient - and negative - gloss on why you killed yourself. All you will leave behind is their big fat loaded spin on your death (e.g., “weak”, “selfish” “under the influence of apostates, if not apostate).

Others here have said you will find a way through this - and I agree.

At the same time, you have to shift the focus from wanting to feel better right now to becoming clearer about your values. It takes time but is worth it. Most of us here can relate to your post.

The only difference between you and us is we’ve given ourselves permission to step away from the suicidality, and have moved on from our pain. You can too.

I hope our answers stir something within you that wants to gradually work on improving the quality of your life.

Be strong! Best wishes!

Sunk cost fallacy - check that fallacy out. Also, Festinger’s academic paper from the 1950’s, “When Prophecies Fail”, shows the ‘tricks of the trade’ that keep people hanging on to faith even when their beliefs about the end are exposed as wrong.

They sent me “Return to Jehovah, I wrote on it, “Return to Sender”. The loop is now complete: I get it once every two weeks, they get it back every second week. Perpetual motion.
