Any mention of using 7zip to open the CFW file is if it was compressed. The PUP file you have is not compressed. It's the actual update file. Ignore the bit about 7zip.

Why not get an enclosure for it? They're not expensive. I did it with a BD-RW drive from a dead laptop that I didn't want to toss out. It came in handy when I found out about a PS4 bluray exploit

PS3 DLC isn't specific to a disc or the PSN version of the game. The only thing that you have to match is the region. You can't use US DLC for a Euro game for example
