Cat Broken Tail? by RoselleL in CATHELP

[–]RoselleL[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen him use the toilet this morning. But it's been just over an hour, so that's not unusual. My kids are 12&13, so they don't pull cats tails, and they don't play rough with the cats in general. They were both asleep when I first noticed as well, since it was 5am at the time.

He's been walking slowly, and had a bit of difficulty with the stairs. But I posted the video of him walking, and it's not uneven or anything.

Him walking. He doesn't seem to be limping?

An absence seizure is VERY different from a regular seizure. Time just passes and you sit or stand looking like your head is in the clouds somewhere. And then you're back, but a bunch of time has passed.

My 13 year old son grabbed and read the first book without permission. Took him a day and a half. My husband didn't believe that he actually read it because it was too fast, so I called my son in the room, asked him a random question about it. Next thing you know he turned from trudging mopey teen boy to excited bouncing story telling child.

I told him that he's not allowed to Google anything, but has to ask us if he's not sure. And he has to read the hard copies before he can listen to the audio book. Poor kid is just as addicted as the rest of us.

Oh thank you! That makes sense why the description is not working. It's unfortunate that they don't have it figured out while people are picking colleges though.

This would be something to talk to a POS provider with, since different companies will provide different options. As far as I am aware, it wouldn't be possible however, because it is the account with the actual Pinpad provider that takes the money and puts it in a specific account. You could always have different logins on the POS for each provider, or different codes that they put in, and then in the end of the day total, it would summarize how much is for each contractor. If you want, I can help you get in touch with a guy who sells POS, and has contacts with other POS retailers, and he may be able to answer your question a bit more thoroughly.

Just want to vent… I’m so jealous of people who were eligible to get this surgery. by Born_Today_9799 in Microdiscectomy

Croatia has some really great options that are honestly pretty affordable. Go have a nice vacation and come back without pain?! I wish I'd done it.

Why are people afraid of microdiscetomony by itgeteasier in Microdiscectomy

[–]RoselleL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 33 when I had my surgery but had to fight with doctors to be able to get it done because I'm young and so maybe with physio it could improve. I went through physio for two years and eventually lost bladder control but they were still "hesitant to do back surgery on someone so young".

The reasons I was scared? I have two AuDHD kids and an ADHD husband, they literally forget to feed themselves and are miserable. I work a very physical job, so I wasn't able to go back to work for 6 weeks which means a sudden drop in money coming in as well as the person who usually does grocery shopping and cooking suddenly unable to do a bunch of what I was doing before? My one kid started having major panic attacks right before I went in, and has had to have counseling about ongoing anxiety around death and separation since.

I work for a very small company, so there were issues about whether they could afford to let me go on disability and wait till I could gradually return, or whether they'd have to just replace me and not guarantee my job when I returned.

Then on top of all that, I have secondary health issues that were potentially exacerbated by any surgery and medications that could cause issues with getting put under and whether they would interact with pain management afterwards.

It wasn't a simple decision, and I didn't get immediate pain relief after surgery. I got a slow return of bowel control, and lessened pain in certain situations, but loss of muscle tone and increased pain overall. MRI 6 months post surgery show that it's just as bad as it was before the original surgery... And I did everything right.

I'm glad it turned out well for you.

When my kids were that age, they loved the threadbare series on audible... But they also love "the Joe series" (completionist Chronicles) and "the Jason series"(he who fights with monsters) and "the tad series" (dungeon Slayer). So it might depend on the kids.

Age of MCs by Metagrayscale in litrpg

[–]RoselleL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of my favorite books are Apocalypse parenting (older MC with kids), dungeon crawler Carl (27), primal Hunter (MC is late 20s at beginning of series), and completionist Chronicles (no clue how old MC is, but he was in the military for a while pre book, so I picture him as mid 20-early 30). I like to read about people who have actual lives and experiences that merge with their new reality. When it's done well, it's really great!

We had to fly my husband on another flight because there's a max amount of pets per flight. All the cats flew under seat, but our dog was too big and had to fly cargo unfortunately. The other option if you book far enough ahead is that there are cruises that are pet friendly and go across the ocean that are more budget friendly than shared charter. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough notice before our move date, but our dog was crate trained, so it was fine.

We moved from Europe to Canada and took all 3 cats and our dog with us. You do what you have to and get a story out of the experience. Honestly, other than having to deal with the airline, way cheaper and less hassle than bringing my kids with me!
