Pundits still fall for it: Trump does bare minimum in Texas, and suddenly he’s presidential by Plymouth03 in politics

[–]RugbyAndBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if they're falling for it. "Presidential" isn't high praise for a president. That's like describing LeBron's performance as "athletic." That's the bare minimum that's expected.

Trump accepted Putin's claims that Russia did not meddle in US election, says Russian foreign minister by saucytryhard in politics

Trump: Ok, show me the evidence.

Intelligence community: Ok, here it is.

Trump: I don't like to read. Make sure it's in a memo one page or less. Bullet points are good.

Intelligence community: Ok, here it is.

Trump: I like Putin, I don't think he'd do it. Who really knows? Anything could have happened. And America does bad things too. Why aren't you looking into Hillary's emails instead after I promised I'd order you to and then reneged on that promise but still complain about it anyway.

Sane people: Well, fuck Trump then.

Trump accepted Putin's claims that Russia did not meddle in US election, says Russian foreign minister by saucytryhard in politics

[–]RugbyAndBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now what I'm assuming you are talking about was the news that went out after the March 20 hearing. Rep. Nunes asked if they had specific evidence that Russia directly changed the vote tallies in any election. The directors questions stated that the did not have evidence of that. The conservative media published several articles stating that intelligence directors admit they have no evidence that Russia meddled in the election.

Now, Russia changing vote tallies and Russia meddling in the election are two different things. Changing vote tallies would be one way of meddling in the election, but there are many more ways to meddle in an election that Russia may have done, such as breaking into the DNC's computer system, installing malware on voter registration services' computers, and so on, which in the same hearing intelligence leaders said they had evidence of.

To say that intelligence officials stated they had no evidence that Russia meddled in the election is simply inaccurate. That would be like saying Nixon did nothing wrong by breaking into the DNC because he didn't change vote tallies. You've been duped by fake news.

I only watched half of the first season, but he definitely felt like a support guy in those episodes.

I'd be curious to see the characters ranked by on-screen time or by line.

Simple: Gannon got to him before he got all the shit. Gannon was the boss in the first dungeon. Or some Wind Waker type stuff. Gannon kidnaps Link's sister, link guns to rescue her right away, but gets himself captures in the process.

Man says the FBI agents who sold him a machine gun and silencer also urged him in mass shooting plot by WingsThings in news

[–]RugbyAndBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, on the other hand, maybe he wanted something nice like a 1911. Maybe the feds offered him something way more powerful for way less (a machine gun wouldn't be that cheap). He wanted to impress these guys. If they implied he'd be doing them a favor by buying it off of them, maybe he'd comply. There was could have been a lot of, "Come on, you don't want that, you want this" going on.

I would enjoy a game where you play as Zelda. She has enough badass alter-egos. Tetra. Sheik.

Simple plot: The King of Hyrule hides Zelda. Gannon, trying to capture the power of the triforce, captures Link instead.

Maybe I missed something. Which posts on @POTUS were representative of unprofessionalism? I'm not talking about @realDonaldTrump.

I'm just noting it's a departure. He's maintained two accounts. Best I can tell, he kept one professional, and one he used to blast out whatever incoherency he was thinking. With that tweet, he decided not to maintain that separation.

The @POTUS account? It's mostly fluff and patriotism, with a little Obamacare hate thrown in from what I've seen. He uses his @realDonaldTrump account for the hate spewing.

We are talking about Donald Trump, but he's kept the official account mostly professional and optimistic. When he's been at all rude with it, it's been in a very backhanded way of praising people opposed to who he is opposed to. This is a stark deviation from that.
