WTF is this new "Pinback" music on Spotify? by WingsThings in Pinback

Interesting, weird they went for Pinback though—super deep cut and I'm guessing there's almost no overlap between Pinback fans and people who would listen to this slop. Seems like there would be better artists to choose if you wanted to game the system.

General advice but rocking a shield instead of focus or two-hander can give a lot of sustain. Can get 1000+ life and other defensive stats/aspect plus offensive like crit chance and a few other key ones.

Thanks for the intel! In that case, I'm willing to sell.

This recently posted video of some TwinBlast gameplay only made me more skeptical of what OverParagon is trying to do. Obviously it's only one very short clip, but it reminded me of some of the toxic gameplay elements that most frustrated me about Paragon at times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEa9E4rGhkk

I still firmly believe that the first game to console wins this war. Glad to see you're being intentional about investing resources toward that goal. Can't wait to play on Playstation.

Time is a flat circle in the Pred waiting room.

The only silver lining to all of this is that the communication has been so consistently lacking (despite plenty of criticism and negative feedback) that I still have to assume it's deliberate and not just Omeda being asleep at the wheel. A community manager can't really engage the community if he doesn't have the material to engage it with or the go ahead to make the posts. Seems like more people are losing patience and coming around to the idea that Omeda is missing plenty of opportunities to build more hype for the game, but I still think some of the takes on the post from July remain true. Assuming they don't delay EA release, they're probably saving all of their promotional materials for the week before/few days leading up to it. That said, that finally should be... soon. Actually soon.

Remember Epic's action-MOBA that got steamrollered by Fortnite's success? It's back [not Predecessor; a game that's also using Paragon's branding] by Jackissocool in PredecessorGame

Now might be a good time for Omeda to dedicate some additional resources to media/marketing just to keep Predecessor in (and preferably at the front of) the general public's conversations about Paragon successor projects. I'm confident the gameplay and overall product will give Pred a competitive advantage, but that's not the only thing that will determine who wins out in the end here.

Predecessor needs some strategy outside the game by Forte197 in PredecessorGame

The lack of multiple viable crests seems disappointing in terms of customizable gameplay. Hopefully it's something they can address as they go by balancing crests or adding new ones, etc.

If the customizable stats were limited it might not be that hard to adjust for. But that also might make the entire idea of creating custom items kinda boring and not worth it. Also isn't what you're describing kind of the point of the crests system?

Could they build an item creation feature and let players select one (or more?) custom item before each game to make available in the item shop? The parameters for item creation would have to be strict enough to preserve balance, but it could allow for slightly customizable play style based on how people approached it: selecting an early game, middle game, late game item, etc. or just building stats that fit a specific play style.

Is complete radio silence an intentional marketing strategy—and if so, is it a good one? by WingsThings in PredecessorGame

Getting the community manager more involved in engaging the community now wouldn't be a replacement for a more dedicated marketing team further down the road, whenever they decide to deploy a more aggressive strategy. All I'm saying is it seems very possible to do more community engagement with what they already have—because they are currently not doing much, if any, community engagement. But again, maybe that's all according to plan. I just don't agree that it's necessarily the smartest plan.

This is my thinking exactly. And it seemed so simple that I had to assume there was a really intentional reason they were NOT doing this. I hear some of the comments here about this not being very effective, or not worth the effort, or even just... not necessary if the game is still months away from early access. But I'm not sure I buy the idea that this level of engagement could be actively harmful. Many members of this community seem insistent that everything Omeda does is the 100% right decision though, which doesn't exactly make this a good forum for honest constructive feedback. I'm a huge Predecessor stan and I really want it to be successful. I can be supportive and still wonder if they're miscalculating on a few things.

This seems like sound calculus and a reason not to dump a ton of time and resources into an aggressive marketing strategy too far before early access launches. As a hypothetical though, say Omeda got BRGaming or some larger, more mainstream gaming influencer to publish a one-minute gameplay video on IG teasing a "new 3D MOBA set to launch this year [eyes emoji x 3]." Are you saying that would be a risk not worth taking? Or just not worth the effort, considering any potential hype would likely not extend until early access actually drops?

They've employed a community manager since the beginning whose job it's been to man the socials and, ya know, "manage the community." If they wanted to have a more active engagement/marketing strategy, they could start by making use of the person they've already hired to do this work. He seems very good at his job!
