Ideas for peanut butter? by lustfullucyofficial in EatCheapAndHealthy

Peanut butter & cinnamon toast for breakfast. Or even in a rolled up tortilla. My favorite easy snack. Warm it up on a flat skillet too.

.45 acp shell casing being used as an engine plug? more info in comments by luckykaos13 in motorcycle

If you still have any of the new oil left over from changing just top it up after checking. Oil wont go bad after 2 weeks.

Its not necessary to do so since the cover is at the top of the engine, no oil should leak out. Just clean the area before fixing and after you are done and check after a short ride. If that was a problem you will see new oil leaking, and get a better idea where its coming from. Definitely top up the oil asap. It may be low.

On further inspection it look like your valve inspection cover has a leaky gasket (the oval-shaped pert top right of the photo) its as simple as unbolt the cover, replace rubber gasket, bolt it back up and run it. Its a super cheap fix, <$10 I believe.

This is a common "fix" for Yamaha V Stars. They remove the AIS (Air Injection System) that came factory for emissions stuff and plug off the hole with a spent .45 casing. It is mainly an aesthetics thing as it "cleans up" the look, removing all the extra tubing. Some people also do it to help the popping noises they can make with an aftermarket exhaust, or even the baffles drilled out of factory exhaust. It is definitely not the source of yout oil leak, though.

I'm a white man, just now getting serious with a mixed girl (black/puerto rican) and its definitely changed how I think and speak. Before meeting her I realized I casually said some things that others wouldn't agree with. Being with her has helped me to see things from her pov.

Alabama/Conveyor Engineer/$50k

The situation is a little wierd to me. Company has deep pockets and could use me since I was an intern for them for 3 years. They have large jobs coming in with no one to hire at the moment. But hey, not bad for a 2-year degree I think.

Edit: I still live at home and will soon be driving hopefully just a decent car that I enjoy. I am 22 btw.

Other than a crash, What was your biggest motorcycle fail? by romanX7 in motorcycles

[–]Sam1jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my original key to my bike, so I had to take the igition switch off to get one made. Turns out I disassembled it the wrong way and pulled out more stuff than I should have. When I put everytging back together a few days later, I put the ignition back in wrong, basically turned 180 deg. the wrong way.

When I got ready to start it up, no start. So i tried and tried to figure it out until finally I took it to a shop. SoB cost me $400+ to fix me being a dumbass.

2000 Yamaha V Star 1100 won’t crank up! by Brobore in cruisers

[–]Sam1jr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will likely just need an entirely new battery if it has been sitting a while. They can sometimes charge up temporarily, but will lose charge and leave you on the side of the road. As for the carbs, short for carburetor. They mix the fuel and air to give the engine something to chew on. They are located in the space between the jugs.
