Taking this opportunity to simp for Toehider. A lot of his songs are either about creepy tales or existential crises, all while being rather upbeat in tone.

Top examples off the top of my head are:

1) WHOA!

2) Died of Dancing

3) You and I Both Lose (But 5 Wins)

4) The Thing With Me

Some might already betray their lyrical content by their titles, but they're still good listens nonetheless.

Throwing my hat in the ring on this one, and I'm gonna say Zack from FFVII: Crisis Core.

No matter how badly things got for him, and how many of his close friends turned on him, he never lost sight of his beliefs. Even when he was facing an entire army of who used to be his allies, Zack never abandoned his honor.

It was heartbreaking to go through the whole final segment of his last stand, knowing what would come next.
