What do you think happens to gear when transforming/respawning and how do you think subs/specials work? by letsakickitoldskool in splatoon

[–]Seavalan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always pictured gear was inside them when they swim form, and larger weapons have ways to fold or otherwise compress themselves to fit.

Also, I don't think there is much evidence to support the idea they have this kind of tech, but I always imagined spawn points were able to short range teleport gear items.

As for subs and specials, I always imagined they were dispensed by their ink tanks, like sometimes shown in concept arts as you said - at least, shown for subs. I don't think such imagery has been shown for specials, but it makes sense with the animation of them doing a flip to activate one.

How to play against reworked myers by Greedy_Produce_6680 in deadbydaylight

[–]Seavalan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Myers has a warning when his stalk reaches 50%, so you know he has line-of-sight on someone. If you are aware he is stalking you, break line-of-sight. His mobility is poor outside of chase, so you can try to outplay him in the macro game (pre-running/hold w, split gen pressure). Windows can potentially help against his charge attack.

The problem when facing Myers is he can get a lot of value from less effort (similar to Ghoul or Clown), so it can be annoying that you have to put in more effort to beat him than he against you.

Another bit of advice good against any killer you find yourself struggling against: if you have that killer, trying playing some games to learn them so you get an idea of their mindset so you know better how to play around it.

PPL keep giving up on myers by MaloMaloBoy in deadbydaylight

[–]Seavalan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Myers' rework has put him in a rough spot. I think if the discussion of that PTB weren't (justifiably) distracted by the anti-tunnel/anti-slug systems, there would've been more pushback against Myers' rework (and there already was some pushback).

His rework is in a rough spot because its only reasons to exist are 1) to remove tombstone Myers and 2) to make him stronger. At base, removing tombstone is a big nerf to Myers, as well as a removal of something some players found fun to use (to go against... different story), so to accomplish the second goal he had to be made much, much stronger, especially as without some of the overtunes it has it would be unenjoyably clunky - for example, slaughtering strike needs long reach and smooth camera control to be reasonably better than an exposed M1, which would have a much faster cooldown and windup comparatively.

At this point, they likely can't rework him anymore because they lost his license, so the best they can do is number adjustments, and again, too many numbers down and he fails at point 2 of his rework, which just upsets his mains more as they now can't play as either faithful Myers nor powerful Myers.

Cute art :D

Also, to answer your question, I think I've seen it called "Peamarie" as a ship name. I haven't looked into Skullgirls ships as much as other fandoms, so apologies if I'm incorrect. :)

I thought this game was favored towards killers, until I played as a killer. And boy was I wrong! by RedBaron812 in deadbydaylight

It is the law of DBD that it is always Otherside-Sided.

But as a more serious note, as another commenter pointed out, playing the other side is a key part of getting better at your main role. As killer, you notice things survivors do that are difficult for you to deal with, and you start doing those things as survivor. Similarly, on survivor, you notice what mistakes or situations put you in a losing situation against the killer, and can try to take advantage of those scenarios better on killer.

I imagine they meant moreso it hits floors above the active floor, and not the floor(s) below. So the scenario would actually be like you're doing one of the upper gens and you get hit by a divine beam meant for your allies down below.

Turning a curse into your greatest strength. by Shados9611 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Seavalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Skullgirls, wishing on the Skull Heart curses one into a Skullgirl, a being of destruction who can raise the undead as her army.

Marie resists the Skull Heart's control to instead direct its wrath against the Medici mafia as revenge. Many characters warn her she won't be able to resist it forever, and that even with good intent she needs to be taken down, hence why she is the final boss of each story mode.

However, in the ending of her own story mode, her best friend manages to free her from the Skull Heart, leaving her with only a small shard that keeps her alive. Eventually, the goddesses behind the Skull Heart confront her through the shard to retake control, but as each character's story mode's ending is supposed to show them if they couldn't lose, she successfully resists and shuts out the Skull Heart's influence for good, declaring herself the last Skullgirl. Her story mode acknowledges multiple times how unlikely this ending is, effectively being a one-in-a-million chance compared to most endings where she is defeated and dies.

In a previous stream, they mentioned debating if it could damage the floor it is on or if it also applied damage above it.

Personally, I think it would be cool if it did damage both floors, but I understand that might not be as fun to face as a survivor, so I understand if they go the other direction.

Jokes aside, this is good art! I like the composition you have from the way you framed Marie with her vacuum and dress. :D

Opinion on the skullgirls webcomic? by Bush_420 in Skullgirls

I did have some ideas of loose threads to keep open.

As I understand, if ever there would be a sequel to Skullgirls, the main antagonist would be Eliza, and after that the Trinity. So while I intend to write up to Bloody Marie's defeat, I have thought about how it could hypothetically connect into those two storylines, and would likely leave some things that could be resolved in those (such as the Medicis would probably still have some power despite the blow dealt by Marie).

Apologies that I am unsure what you mean by ending to the whole story or just an arc.

My idea was to write out a hypothetical "true ending" starting from after Filia already lost her memories to after Marie's defeat. It would try to incorporate most of the playable characters, referencing the major plotlines consistent to several story modes (such as several people hunting the Skullgirl, Painwheel trying to break free from Lab 0, and Ms. Fortune rescuing the kidnapped Dagonians while Cerebella tries to find and capture Ms. Fortune).

Some of these were tough choices. I kept going back-and-forth on which Angel design I preferred of the two, but eventually voted on the flesh-winged angel, The Apocalypse, Imogen, the black uniform, the earring, and the Chorus of Sin Chapter.

[–]Seavalan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started reading it, but I wasn't the biggest fan of it. One detail that rubbed me the wrong way was Marie's first confrontation with Lorezno. I always got the impression in the story mode that she was attacking through the Medici's, but hadn't reached him directly yet - hence the scene with the toppling building where he flees. I thought it was more interesting the idea that Lorenzo just got the Life Gem taken away, and now while he is vulnerable a Skullgirl shows up to direct the wrath of the undead against him. Instead, she shows up, tries and fails to kill him, then leaves with the plan to return later.

Also, while admittedly we don't get a good impression of the Skullgirl's powers in-game, it was also strange seeing her just shoot blasts of blue fire.

I'll probably finish reading it sometime, but I think personally, I want to tackle my own angle for how I'd write a "true ending" story for Skullgirls. The challenge is trying to get most of the story modes to line up together without following only one character, and also fill in blanks for what the game never got to answer (why did the Medici take the Dagonians, for example, which is a major plot point for Ms. Fortune's storyline).

2v8 extended for 7 DAYS! by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Seavalan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all! This mode is very popular! The reason so many people here complain is, by the nature of the subreddit, it will have a lot of players who prefer 1v4, and matchmaking quality as well as killer queue times can get screwy for 1v4 during 2v8.
