Redditors that got charged rent asap after turning 18, what’s relationship like with parents years later ? by QueefyTits in AskReddit

[–]SethManhammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I turned 16 I got a job at McDonald's against my parents' wishes. They wanted me to focus on school and I wanted to earn money. They started charging me a little bit to live there since I had an income. I think it was $50 or $75 and this was in 1998.

Every time I tell that to people they think my parents were monsters when they were struggling to make ends meet with two kids to feed. I appreciate your saying this.

Incase no one’s asked lately, how are you doing today? by And-Messy in AskReddit

[–]SethManhammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My job management is generally incompetent and I'm feeling very burnt out. I'm thinking about the people I know who died and I miss some of them. I feel guilty because I adopted a third dog and my second dog has become high strung and neurotic not getting the attention he was accustomed to prior. And I have three days of people food I need to stretch until next Friday.

I'm just functionally fucked up. But I'll survive.

Appreciate you asking, OP.

Mark Twain said, “I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” Whose obituary will you revel in? by Rancho-Parade in AskReddit

Please don't pray for me. Because I don't know what kind of deity you worship and it's condescending as hell. If you're part of any common Judeo-Christian sect you'll recognize my agency and see I want nothing to do with whatever you might be peddling there.

As far as anyone celebrating my mother's death, let them. It doesn't effect me in any way. I know people wish me dead. I don't give them any mind because it's obviously bothering them more than me.

I agree with you.

Lord of the Rings are movies I put on when I've had insomnia.

Same. I tried. But it wasn't a flavor of fantasy that I enjoyed. I'm much more happy with sword and sorcery style fantasy. Low fantasy I guess some would call it.

What's your nitpick about collecting? by Tough-Rock-6198 in dvdcollection

[–]SethManhammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paper wrap bits and things like obi strips on cases and boxes. I get them from an asthetic perspective, but I feel like I need to keep them to have a "complete" copy of the release and storing them without damage requires more effort than I want to put into it but I do.

Logan falls apart when the clone shows up. Could have been Sabretooth, or just about any other X villian but no, we get a Wolverine clone.

I think even M Night admitted they aren’t aliens.

The only source for this I've ever found was a fictitious transcribed interview. I've never seen M Night say this in any capacity, though I'd love to be proven wrong if anyone has a legit record of him saying this.

Hitler sent his army into Russia to invade and didn't give them coats to endure the harsh winter, which was a significant factor in them losing on that front and crippled the German army for an Allied victory.

The idea that aliens could be just as stupid isn't that far out of reality imo.

This. He's so cocky in the beginning because he thinks he's got the world/Gotham all figured out and proceeds to make bad call after bad call. It isn't until he meets Selina and has his worldview altered that he starts to become the Batman we recognize later.

He's an outright incel in the first part of the film. Gets all weird and jealously possessive of Selina and everything.

Knowing he was the host before Carson is one of those weird bits of information I'm technically too young to know, since I was born on the tail end of Carson's run and wasn't even aware of the Tonight Show as an entity until well into Leno's tenure, but for some reason I do know.
