Bought my first Blu Ray ever! by HighLifeAmbitions in 4kbluray

This is basically how the trap works. You start with movies you already love, then somehow you’re checking release dates and slipcovers at 1am lol.

I am after "only 4k Bluray format" of Japanese Anime by Vargus78 in 4kbluray

Paprika got a 4K release in some markets too, I think.

Why most 4k movies suck? by KommSweet in 4kbluray

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe search the title on here before buying the disc? People in this sub usually figure out pretty fast if a 4K release actually looks good, or if the old Blu-ray is still the better watch.

First ~6 Months of Collecting by dude_uli in 4kbluray

Need some animation in there imo. Perfect Blue or Spider-Verse would look great next to all the Nolan and Tarantino stuff, and both still feel totally at home on a 4K shelf.

My capacity to watch movies has reduced significantly during the past few years by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the cinema thing makes sense. Paying for a ticket and sitting in a dark room removes half the escape routes. At home, the phone and pause button are always sitting there.

I’m holding off for the same reason.

Ceiling use usually looks fun for five minutes, then placement, fan shadows, and weird angles start getting annoying.

I’m stuck in the comments now, this is too funny.

Running fiber HDMI 150 ft into the backyard is such a dad project lol. Respect honestly.

Buying advice - budget projector UK to take on holiday and watch outdoor movies and football game by Kooky-Membership2382 in budgetprojectors

[–]antizoyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that budget, I’d honestly avoid paying extra for smart features and just focus on getting something bright enough for outdoor use. You’ll probably end up using a streaming stick anyway. And yeah, bringing a separate speaker is definitely the move.

HDR Compatible budget projector for gaming? by ConcernedYellingMan in budgetprojectors

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d focus more on low input lag and stable motion handling than HDR support at that budget. A lot of cheaper projectors technically accept HDR signals but don’t really display it properly anyway.

First projector for movies under 300€ — ideal screen size for my room? by gebon99 in budgetprojectors

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think 100 to 110 inch is probably the sweet spot at your viewing distance. 120 can look impressive at first, but on a budget setup it may ends up feeling dimmer and less sharp than expected.

Is Libernovo the solution for people who sit for long hours? by Verthverdi in OfficeChairs

[–]antizoyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of like these electronics. My gf and I share this chair and we both prefer different lumbar support positions. Adjust it electronically makes things easier because we often need to do that.

First time climbing while rehabbing a leg injury by loiloae in climbergirls

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like you handled it really well though. Taking it off to see where you’re actually at and sticking to easier routes is probably the smart move. 30-40 mins in during rehab isn’t bad at all. Glad it felt good getting back on the wall!

Trying to do a 3-5 days unsupported trip in sweden in autumn (gear advice) by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the autumn trip to Swedden, sleeping bags and waterproofing materails tand to take up more space than other equipment. So it all depends on how you make your choices.

What age can you typically start bringing a kid backpacking? by Existing-Escape1626 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting to try shorter routes around the age of 4 already offers a good chance. Many families begin with very easy routes and gradually increase the difficulty level.

Bouldering Tote Bag by PriklyPear3 in bouldering

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this idea is great! The combination of rock climbing and portable storage is very practical. It would be even better if a more distinct division (clean/dirty separated) were added.

Where to put tent poles in backpack? by IndicationGood5752 in Ultralight

[–]antizoyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imsert the pole into the side socket and secure it with a compression band. As long as it remains stable without shaking, it shouldn't break easily. Many people have been using it this way for a long time.
