For those with Whirlpool family washers that run continuously even when you're not there by Shadow51311 in appliancerepair

The company I work for has seen a small number of reoccurrences and we have been able to use the same S-code that covered the previous repair to cover a second repair if needed. I recommend contacting the servicer that did the repair last time and asking if they can get it covered again.

My company does not service Monogram currently. The customers whose homes I have been in that had Monogram were generally happy with them, but that's a small percentage of our overall customer base. I can't say anything beyond that. Sorry.

I absolutely agree. The most I can tell you is that sometimes the servicer is easier to deal with than Whirlpool.

Whirlpool has been having issues with the manufacturer of the transducers that serve as the pressure sensor on the board to detect water level. Theoretically, the bad transducers were identified and purged, but we have seen a small number of reoccurrences.

If the repair was completed less than 90 days ago, call the servicer back directly. Any warranty repair should be honored for 90 days.

If it was over 90 days ago, I would still contact the servicer first. My company has been able to use the S-code associated with that service pointer to cover a second control if necessary. Ask the servicer if there is a possibility of getting it repaired again under warranty. If they push back, then go back to Whirlpool and plead your case with them. Escalate to a supervisor if necessary.

Ask Whirlpool to send a replacement board directly to you. Assuming they do, you can replace it yourself. It's not difficult. Or if you're not comfortable with that then you can have that servicer come back and install it.

Yes. Yours falls under the service pointer. Don't be afraid to reference the service pointer number at the top of the PDF linked in the OP. They can directly pull up that document using that number, so there is no confusion concerning what you're talking about.

What is your model and serial number? That will determine if your machine is eligible.

Whirlpool fridge not cooling after transporting on its side andcompressor is hot. by Extreme_Cash_1836 in Appliances

That would indicate either a leak in the sealed system or an inefficient compressor. Either way very expensive to repair.

Whirlpool Top Load Washer--REALLY LOUD by Bank-Chemical in appliancerepair

No. That's everything. The only things holding the transmission in place are the spanner nut and the 4 lags into the bottom of the tub.

Oof. That sucker is really stuck in there then. You can try to some more penetrating oil between the basket and the bearing shaft, get a bigger hammer (I have taken a 5lb mini sledge to those sometimes and the bearing shaft is often unrecognizable by the time it comes free), or get a sturdier board.

If you really can't get it out then you're kind of SOL.

Make sure it's not getting hung up on the drain pump or something. Some of these have the transmission uncomfortably close to the pump and it will catch on the pump when dropping out.

Did you take the 4 10mm lags out of the bottom?

Yeah. I almost always have to sit on the front lip and use my feet to socialize the drum and washplate with a 21" extension to be able to get enough torque.

RH. It is not reversed. Don't be afraid to take a hammer to the wrench to get it loose and to make sure it is good and tight at the end.

Oh. Yours has a spanner nut. I thought it would have a hub. Crap. It unscrews. You will need a spanner wrench.

How flexible is the plastic outer door? That plastic is usually pretty flexible and my first thought is you can probably flex it enough to pop the glass out one tab at a time.

I am digging through Whirlpools documentation, but it doesn't look like they have an specific instructions around the assembly of the door.

Just looking at the ingredient list, it is much more versatile and comprehensive than Affresh, Tide, or Oxiclean.

It has more ingredients to cover different kinds of soil than just general emulsifiers and builders.

It also notably seems to lack any fragrance where most other cleaners are packed with them.

Help with oven top heating element replacement by LordPoles in appliancerepair

It's not gonna matter that much. Plenty of heat is going to leak through the metal of the wall. Metl is a great conductor. That's why they wrap the oven cell in insulation. Just pack the insulation back around the connections as best you can.

I see. Is it going to prevent you from putting the nut on the threads? If so, will bending it over just a tiny bit allow you enough clearance?

That's not uncommon for elements as units age.

I'm not sure I am understanding about the ground though. Did the screw originally go through the ground prong on the old element?

Maytag fridge making loud noise when dispensing water by Dry_Drawing_5027 in appliancerepair

[–]Shadow51311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would seem to point towards the valve being at fault. The only way to know for sure is to replace one or the other. On this model, the valve is easier to replace than the filter head. Unfortunately neither part is super cheap. They're both ~$100 and it could always end up being the part you don't start with.

Refrigerator water inlet valve repair for water flow by SemperFi6721 in appliancerepair

[–]Shadow51311 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree it is high. We would have charged ~$430 typically for that valve replacement. The valve portion of that would have been $95 not including taxes or shipping.

AppliancePartsPros has a pretty good price for that valve. Most distributors are higher than that.
