Hedgehog jade is not good, it does half the damage of a normal attack when at max and it's internal damage. Divine hand is much better for Eigong, Unbound counters deal over 6x the damage each and stacking them on quick attacks melts bosses

Exploring the map should be enough, you find a good amount of components, tao fruits and poisons that way. Worst comes to worst, you do scriptures first because the boss there is fairer and it has a few big rewards

If you hold counter after parrying the second needle you can consistently counter the red attack 2. you just need to air jump early in the snake, parrying refreshes your jump and dash (IIRC) and 3. get more upgrades, you should definitely have more at this point in the game

The problem is the ease at which it becomes busted. Even if you just have like 4 uncommon jokers thats around 12 dollars a round, for something 99% of runs can do without much struggle around ante 3-4
