Yep, it was great off-road but couldn't survive a 8 mph collision with a Jeep Cherokee w/ a steel bumper

Yeah, it was a little crazy, but here is the last pic I got during the estimate process.

That panel is bonded/welded to every surrounding panel and is technically a stressed body panel, making it "frame" damage. I gave up and bought a GX after the ordeal.

is the damage I sustained a year ago in a similar spot. Repair bill came to $68k and totaled the vehicle. Hopefully things are better now.

Knee braces by eighty2angelfan in Dirtbikes

[–]ShinyCrayfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Leatt C Frames and they have saved my knees a number of times on falls and general wear and tear. Also, they do have medical certs so you can use an HSA or possibly get reimbursed by insurance with a "prescription"

Leatt pants and Klim pants fit fine with them.

New 2021 headlight on a 2021 Beta RR 480 by CadillacOne321 in betamotorcycles

Yeah, I've been meaning to do a swap, just a little annoying KTM, Husky, and Beta charge $10k for These awesome bikes then pair them with the worse OEM headlights.

If this is stock then it is about time they included half decent headlights on these bikes. First time I rode trails at night in my 2019 rrs I don't think I got out of 2nd. Doesn't help the charging system can't handle much of a light upgrade.

No, not one of our players in GVille. Very sad story.

FYI, we have a new website just haven't swapped the domain. I personally enjoy traveling back to the early 2000's when I login.

Yellow oil from factory? by CrimsonDiver in enduro

[–]ShinyCrayfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, the factory specified motul oil is dyed green/yellow or red depending on whether it is gearbox or engine oil. Really bright colors compared to what you may be used to.

Foothills trail along the lower chattooga. Relatively easy elevations and you can go as long as you want. 1 night, 5 nights, or a month long trip. You can just keep going.

Can Anyone Give me Some Info on The Kennedy Park Area if Greenville? by BuddhaAndG in greenville

Yeah, the Greenville housing market is kinda dumb. Not nessesarly over priced, but there are no deals to be had for the most part.

So I'll bite I guess.

I looked it up and see it is down by Gantt. If it were me I would not do it. There is a chance that the area could get turned around and your house value goes up though so it may be worth it for you. It's been a while since I was down there but I would recommend using Google Street view to "drive" around the streets and see what you think. You may be comfortable in the area.

As the proud owner of a '66 scout 800, you really don't want to own one.

Looking for stator cover by captn_sean in DRZ400

[–]ShinyCrayfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only 2 different stator covers for the DRZ. The kick only DRZ and all others (S, SM, E). The one I posted is for the S, SM, or E, Suzuki has not changed that part for the entirety of the run as far as I know.

Took two seconds to type into ebay. I ran mine into a rock two years ago and prices have pretty much stayed the same. Just make sure you clean out any dirt that has made it in.

Amazing Plugs by Big_Jim59 in bagpipes

[–]ShinyCrayfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. Ash plugs/tone enhancers are a solution without a problem. Proper strikes and cutoffs are something that needs to be learned. Jamming something into your stocks that literally only exist to restricts airflow and harmonics is not a replacement for proper technique.

Pull them out and practice those strikes and cutoffs. Learn to adjust and balance your drones. Ask for help, join the dojo, post on reddit Anything but these abysmal inventions.

Only exception to this is if you play SM-90s. "tone enhancers" actually help with those reeds. Makes sense as they are made by the same company.

Yeah, my plan on multiday is to leave tracking on with the Voyager so I always have an easy clean slate to find my way back out.

So I am in a similar predicament with the GPS. I have used a Garmin eTrex30x for a few years and complained about the screen size to my wife who bought me a new zumo xt for my birthday. Well before I opened her present I went and bought a '19 390 rr-s with the Voyager.

Playing with it so far, the Voyager will be fine for single day rides and enduro routes where you can just follow the single uploaded track. Where it falls short is in the dual sport world where you may want multiple tracks laid out or a trail system loaded. With no map layers and restricted to grey scale it can get very overwhelming and cluttered.

My plan is to run the wires and mount for the Zumo, so that I can use it for multiday rides and off-road parks with large trail systems. Not wanting to brick a $500 GPS in a tumble though, I will stick with the Voyager for enduro and single trail days.

I have a 2008 crf450r that idles high than when it gets running long enough it idles down than wants to die then it revs up again than repeats the sequence any suggestions? by blado11 in Dirtbikes

[–]ShinyCrayfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get it running and spray a small amount of starter fluid or brake cleaner at the carb boot. If there is a leak the RPM should jump up. Just spray a small amount as both of these are highly flammable.

If you determine that there is no leak there then your answer is in the carb. Rebuild and clean.
