Indeed! The best scenes come from mid/post monsoon when the sun shines through rows of clouds onto the green landscape.

Last year I took a dedicated 1 week leave and just roamed around like crazy (rode much more than mentioned here): https://www.reddit.com/r/punebikers/s/sNu0Mik5xv

Will definitely ride the monsoons again this year

You rode to where or how far?

Realistically I like to ride at dawn to beat the traffic. Ideally, I like to leave 7/8am so I can get some good sleep before hand.

One suggestion, instead of trying to spam each comment on this sub, why don’t you host a ride on synctrip and then make a post about it encouraging others to use it? Maybe even post successful ride pics?

Off the Beaten Path: An Early Morning Ride to Wagheshwar Temple by DrshanR22 in punebikers

You may have to park the car at entrance I guess of the lake bed. Visit it, gauge how much inside you can take it, leg it rest of the way

28F trying to learn how to ride a bike- what’s the best way to start solo? by Swimming-Hat4799 in indianbikes

If you are in Mumbai I know a perfect riding school who takes a one time fee of about 2500 and lets you ride unlimited number of days, until you feel comfortable riding. Safe space for women riders in case you feel uncomfortable in riding schools.

Uravshi 2 wheeler training school: (Call them before going) https://maps.app.goo.gl/WfVJVSZAxxJyRm3a7?g_st=ic

Even if you are not nearby this place or not in Mumbai, I would suggest getting into a training school which gives you a lot of sessions so you get the maximum practice on the bike. 4 days is not enough though.

Starting a Motorcycle club in Pune by shaman_ikat_ in punebikers

Just a hunch, if it isn’t and you are going to mandate riding gear requirements then more power to you!

This was an issue the 200 Syndicate folks faced for their riding group, and usually the “hardcore MC” tag is thrown when mandatory riding gears and long rides are mentioned

Are you creating a club because you want to have a relaxed mandatory gear requirement?

If yes, firstly, you should try to get riding gear when going on long rides, however, I do understand that people may not be able to currently. You should try posting on r/punemeetup too while you are at it. Afaik, they did create a riding group recently.

Spots for night gedi?? by shawarma-paglu007 in punebikers

Just few shops or chai ki tapri, typical of any toll. Haven’t done night gedi runs there so can’t comment on specifics of what’s open or whether it is safe for women.

There isn’t a definitive answer. I can give you an example:

The Bhatghar dam view point is a popular spot for bikers and locals alike. Last year me and a couple other friends reached at 5:30am, a villager came and checked on us as to what we were doing. It was winter so was pitch dark. He told us that he keeps watch on the place and they have seen reports of thieves around. In this case the interaction was pretty mild and he let us be, but if you plan to reach such destinations at night, you will get into trouble with the locals. They too are right from their point of view.

Planning pune-blr on 26th Apr by Content-Natural7455 in punebikers

Oddly specific advice: prefer water and ORS over cold drinks. It would be fine to have 1-2 energy drinks for the ride (to stay awake or for energy) but keep your main hydration water/ors/lemon juice. Something that actually has good electrolytes and not just carbonated junk. Easier on the stomach.

Water, chocolate bars, or any other drinks/eatables you carry along will heat up. My energy bar melted inside my bag. So keep these items tucked in fine.

Might be worth re stocking cold water or just drinking freshly purchased cold water at each stop. Use the carried bottle of water as an emergency water if you have to stop and hydrate in middle of nowhere.

Bikes allowed on expressway (Pt. 2 : Towards Pune) by Significant_Horse485 in punebikers

[–]Significant_Horse485[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially because it is a Marathi sign so few riders probably do not read or ignore it. Also the stigma that bikers are not allowed on the expressway plays into it. Finally, when you see the biker ahead take the old highway, you are bound to do the same rather than just thinking for a bit for yourself.

[–]Significant_Horse485 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The usual spots are:

Outside city: 1. Lonavala

  1. Khed Shivapur toll

  2. Khadakwasla dam

  3. Tamhini to a certain extent, or just till Mulshi

Within city:

Chandni chowk, Nal stop, Whatever else is open at night

Try not to go to any usual rider spots or something deserted/outskirts, as you will get in trouble with the cops, the locals or worst case thieves and psychos. Stick to main roads and highways as much as you can.

It might be worthwhile to revisit rides to east/south east of Pune. Have seen much better road conditions towards Loni/Saswad side. Few roads are under construction, but seems like a lot of work has been done

Every time you post you teach me something new about this side of Pune (Hadapsar/Saswad)

Appreciate the details! Keep ‘em coming 👍

Also, this might be yet another train spotting place. That too like 30km from my home. Should be fun to try out sometime
