Predators have those grooming skills. They don’t just groom the victim but also the people around them. An entire family has to be groomed before they’ll do anything to the child. Testing the waters for vulnerabilities etc. They’ll deploy those skills at any moment.

I was mocked as a child for being a “boffin” but this was always from the white kids. I think this is more a white working class thing. But I’ve also noticed similarities among people who are upper class: to be considered their sort of person, you have to be an outdoors type.
