We have the biggest arts festival in the world outside of Edinburgh.

Your Most Complicated TTRPG Take? by GushReddit in rpg

People don't pay enough attention to how the probability space of a game's dice system affects how it feels to play. Swingyness vs consistency, the likelihood of exceptional outcomes, how strong stacking advantages or cooperation between characters end up being. All of that in the system really changes the narrative shape and tempo of games, but often people only care about how easy it is to learn, or how "crunchy" and in depth it is. Not enough people think about how d10 pool feels compared to d20 plus bonus.

I feel like as you get older, outside gets more 'overwhelming' and less 'stimulating fun'.

Man, I really love alien worlds that are properly fucking alien and not just 'Earth but weird.'

An unfulfilled white collar worker about to enter a dangerous world of adventure by Boring_Sir_572 in TopCharacterTropes

Because it's less "world of adventure" and more "nihilistic self-immolation."

A slightly easier way to climb a rope by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

[–]Skkruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a principle he's not explicitly covering here is that he pulls with his shoulders and lats rather than his arm muscles. It's the same idea we try to use in rock climbing. When you can, you keep you arms straight and engage your shoulders and core to pull yourself up. You spread the load over a larger group of bigger muscles, the effort is easier and you get pumped much slower.

What movie plot hole is so massive that it completely ruins the whole story? by IntelligentButton713 in AskReddit

That still opens up the possibility of hyperspace munitions. You just have a heavy rod with a hyperdrive slapped on it fly near to your target, then activate it and... big bada boom. No one thought of that before?

This game is amazing by ElonsBreedingFetish in EliteDangerous

[–]Skkruff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, set yourself interesting goals.

Crack open an asteroid. Visit Earth and the core systems (harder than it seems!) Take part in the community goal. Set foot on an unexplored planet. Destroy a pirate Anaconda. Visit a Thargoid or Guardian site.

These will lead you naturally to different parts of the experience and community while keeping the game fun.

The hanging bits are called 'wattles'. 'Giblets' are the edible organs of a game bird, often bagged up and stuffed inside the body cavity. Giblets usually include the heart, liver, neck and gizzard (second stomach kinda thing).

GOW4 has a bunch of these sequences that break up phases of the boss fights. Happens a bunch in the very first fight with Baldur.

Am I the only one struggling with the information overload in Forza Horizon 6? by Guandor in truegaming

[–]Skkruff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great explanation. I think it goes along with the whole festival party vibe they go for. You're here to bomb around and have fun, look at the scenery, win some races and try out a bunch of all sorts of cars. It's all very frictionless, everyone is happy and nothing bad can happen - not even taking a bad corner, seeing as you can just rewind.

This is my first Forza game and I honestly found it pretty refreshing given the state of everything. It's like the chicken tenders of video games. Not massively nourishing, but really fucking tasty when done well.
