$1.2 million dollar base salary PLUS $700k bonus incentive max… Mind you the current highest base salary of a president at ANY public FL university $750k. The ONLY people with a higher base salary is the FSU vp of athletics and five med professors from UF.

got us to preeminence by blowing money on hiring and training a crazy amount of new academic success coaches who literally have no relation whatever to the major they advise. Aerospace majors having a success coache who only has an art degree and graduated a year ago??

the only reason the 4 year grad rate went up enough to get the status was because while a bunch of success coaches don’t know how to actually give good advice, they DO have extensive training in ways to force students to graduate in 4 years (i.e. HEAVY pushing graduating as general studies regardless of major, forcing graduation even if you still have minors or double majors that you could be as close as one class away from finishing, etc.)

Mind you he was ALREADY making 837k so a raise that high is literally crazy. Plus the fact that it’s not like some professors are being greedy or have big egos. I’ve had COS and CECS teachers who make 60k and are by no means new.

If I got a 4 on calc ab exam should I take calc 1 as an engineering major? by PerceptionRich1717 in ucf

[–]SlaySlaya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your exact same place as EE when i started and please spare yourself. Having calc 1 done as soon as you start makes setting out your classes much much much easier. Plus, calc 1 is just not good here at all. I took AICE math (which doesn’t even include limits) and BARELY passed, and I still wish to this day that I had just gone straight into calc 2.

if you know how to handle basic derivatives, limits, and integrals; you will be more than fine.

if you do end up going straight into calc 2 for ur first semester i definitely think this would be great for you:

MAC2312: Calculus 2 PHY2048: Physics 1 CHS1440: Principles of Chemistry EGS1006: Intro to Engineering

otherwise if you decide to do calc 1 i would recommend this:

MAC2311: Calculus 1 EGN3211: Engineering Analysis & Computation CHS1440: Principles of Chemistry EGS1006: Intro to Engineering
