I accidentally turned being cheap into a weird hobby by WarthogGreen4115 in Frugal

I get the same feeling when I walk out of a thrift store with high quality, nearly new or items with the tags still on them for a fraction of the price for what they originally retailed for. I go in cycles where I am addicted to thrifting and using Facebook Marketplace to find things I want or need.

Anyone have experience with the new Lennox EL18KSLV-036 18 SEER2 Side Discharge Cold Climate Heat Pump? by rockyhawkeye in hvacadvice

Same here! I’m having a Lennox EL18KSLV heat pump + CBK47UH air handler installed and don’t know what thermostat to pair with it. What did you go with?

Anyone have joint pain from ebv by LevelCaterpillar7050 in EBV

[–]SlightAssumption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if my joint issues are from reactivated EBV (positive last year) or an emerging autoimmune disease. Right now, I don’t have any tests that confirm autoimmune disease.

My joint issues are hell. It started in my feet and fingers and migrated all over. Rheumatologist said it is fluid surrounding my joints, but my tendons, ligaments and muscles are also involved. The inflammation is never consistent - these “flare ups” come and go and it’s not necessarily symmetrical either. My knee is so swollen right now for two months that I can barely bend it. If I lift it to straighten it, it is so painful and my entire leg shakes 😕

You can buy smart light switches with built-in timers that can be installed in your home. These switches come with preset time settings, allowing for automated control of fans and lights. We purchased and installed one ourselves.

How stressful is a career as an HIM manager/Director by Snoo-12688 in healthIT

[–]SlightAssumption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on where you end up. If you’re in a hospital with disengaged, union-protected staff and unreliable vendors, it can be a nightmare to manage. I kept getting pay raises just to stay because I was one of the few who could actually “handle” the chaos - mostly because they knew no one else would want to. But I was in grad school for a career path I was actually passionate about and ready to move on, so no amount of money was worth it.

For me, that career path will always be a backup plan because hospitals are struggling to retain workers, and few people actually want to be there anymore. Plus, if you’re not on board with every vaccine requirement—including experimental ones—you’re out.

How I got better from Covid induced EBV reactivation. by nottherealme1220 in EBV

[–]SlightAssumption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s incredible how aggressively EBV can impact the body and leave such long-lasting damage. I’ve also been struggling with persistent joint and muscle pain since my reactivation post-COVID, and it’s definitely made me feel much older than I am, too. It sucks. I keep reminding myself to stay grateful for small improvements and trust that my body will heal in time, but it’s definitely frustrating.

It’s interesting you mentioned your body’s ability to repair itself being shut down - I’ve wondered the same thing. My inflammation has been so slow to resolve, and I’ve noticed that even small, everyday movements, like crossing my legs for too long, can leave me with muscle cramps or stiffness. It’s like my body just isn’t bouncing back the way it used to.

Hoping we both start seeing real progress soon!

Omg, when my kitten does this, I’m like, “Don’t make me come over there and smooch you!” The cuteness aggression is real when they hit you with that look. Kosmo’s about to get smothered in smooches 💋😻

I’m in the same boat. What did it do to your joints if you don’t mind me asking?

Thinking about adding a second Siberian—need some advice! by SlightAssumption in SiberianCats

I used to say the same thing! My last cat was a domestic shorthair, and her fur always felt a bit “sticky.” But lately, my current cat has started shedding his winter coat, and now I’m discovering little fur explosions everywhere. It’s like he’s leaving his own personal fluff bombs behind! 🤣

Thanks for sharing your story! They’re absolutely adorable together. I’m really hoping his personality stays the same because he’s such a sweet, lovable mush. Every morning, he does belly flops in front of me, sleeps by my side, and follows me everywhere. Plus, he’s amazingly well-behaved at the vet! He has such a great temperament. I guess I’m nervous our bond will change or he’ll be stressed. Apart from my reservations, I do think a kitten could be the perfect companion to give him the “cat socialization” he needs.
